So I'm checking out cars still since the Unibody needs some work on the Prix, I wanna save up to $3K and get a Bank car loan and talk down the dealer $2000-$4000 off since I'm going to have "Cash" depending on how the process is with Key bank and I'm thinking about a 2004 GTO Base model, Mulberry Purple and of course the V8. Anybody hear anything good/bad with them? I see the mileage is the same as my Prix at the moment. 16MPG

04's got the 5.7, which is slower than the 6.0's but still plenty of power and some good fun.

if u get manual mileage will improve but IMO stick v8's are true boss status haha, but u mine as well save up few more G's for a LS2 GTO (05 06), but both cars are fast and sound badass

I would love to get this 2005 GTO, but i dont know if i should just mod my GTP for less, or spend 14k on a GTO (making monthly payments). Its auto too.

GTO isnt that much worse in gas. I hear people saying they get 17-19 city driving and mid-high 20's highway and low 20's mixed. Not that much of a difference from my GTP i'd say.

I would definately reccomend to get the 2005+ with the 6 speed manual. the rear suspension is a little soft but you wont feel the need to mod it as bad because of the 400 hp stock LS2. I've been looking at getting one myself and from the research ive done you can get a decent milage 2005 for around 15000

I know I'm going to get flamed by 02ws6ta for this buuuuuut..... 05+gto>lsjuan f body

unless you planning on going fast in a straight line anyways.

My buddy has had 3 ls1 fbodys (currently has 2) and a 06 gto. Besides the extremely boring exterior of the gto its a lot nicer of a car.
