After getting sick of my '10 Malibu, I'm trading it in. It's got 35k on the clock and I'm tired of the issues. I've taken it to the dealership twice already over interior/electric steering problems, the transmission is now showing surging issues, and it's just not fun to drive.

Today I went to the dealership and test drove a Mustang. I already knew what I wanted, what my car was worth, and how much the Mustang was worth. The one on the lot was an auto, but it was a base model as I specified and I loved it. So, after telling the salesman what I wanted, we haggled for a while, got to the price point I indicated, and they ordered one (nearest one to my spec was over 150miles away and would have cost more to transport it).

    Arrival time is 4-6 weeks...

This is going to be my first brand new car and I'm pretty excited. Not bad for matching the gas mileage of the Malibu while spitting out considerably more horsepower and style... Plus I can keep up with 2010 and earlier 4.6 models. I'm still keeping my '00 Grand Prix. However, the other two are getting sold off soon and I'll just apply them toward the Mustang. I already know about the driveshaft and shifter issues, so I'll keep that in mind as I go forward from here.

Still 300+ horsepower, and good gas mileage.
    Plus around $8k cheaper.

Congratz. Enjoy your car man. Make sure and post up pics when you have it!

Why 6 and not the 8? About $8k difference. I have a budget to satisfy and this car has almost identical mileage to my Malibu, but plenty of power for play. Way more power for the buck than any other car in it's price range, including the Camaro. They already have a procharger kit that will put it over 450whp if I want to go that route later. Someone else is developing a turbo kit too, and their 3.7 already ran 11.20 in the 1/4 last check.

I'll get pics after it get's made and I pick it up. They're just now putting in the order for it... It's going to be 4-6 week delivery time. *sad* I HAD to have that color. I'm sure I could have gotten one quicker if I didn't mind, the dealer even said it was a rare color option to try and find one from another dealership. I'm all for it not being a popular option.
