leave roll cage money in the budget, you hit 10 sec, you need a roll cage. at a track anyways, the street do as you wish.

Then the only criteria i would look for.... light weight rear wheel drive car. Pick your poison, but I don't think you have grasped how fast that is. It takes more than just a car to go that fast. You need to factor in safety, brakes, and suspension as that's probably going to cost as much as the engine/trans combo.

that would be the "ring and pinion" a full posi rear carrier will help both slicks do their jobs better too, open rear is no good if you have a lot of HP.

You are going about this all wrong. Its easy.

Before you sell the van, go out for a drive.

Look for a guy like this

He will be driving some hot-rod blown car like this

    So cliche` I know... but they're everywhere now-a-days.

So you egg them on, ya know. Phrases like "What's the retail on one of those?" and so on.
You use classic skillz to get him to race you.

While he is distracted, have a friend (hiding in the back of the van) sneak out and sneak up to his car.

His purpose is to cut the fuel lines, cant race without fuel!!!

Win the race, and his 10 sec car.

    Profit.

you would think with a engine like that Charger has it would be faster then 10 seconds especially with that blower, i have a friend with a 71 Chevy Vega wagon that runs 10's with a small block Chevy all motor i know its not the fastest but still just saying, i think that car would be faster but its just a movie. i guess if they made that guys skyline or whatever it was faster then 10 seconds it would be over rated

LS Trans Am or Firebird its easy to make power with the LS.Hell Hot Rod magazine turboed a 4.8 truck engine and got a consistent 1200 HP and that engine had 100,000+ miles.

Sounds to me like the "easiest" way is with an LS1 car, but heads, cam, intake plus probably a 100 shot nawz and slicks will probably not be under 10k for the whole package.
