In late march or so, a user here bought a shift knob from me. I made a mistake and thought I had a black one but it turned out it was gray. In turn, I sent him the one that was in my personal car.

I sent this guy what he wanted in a timely fashion in a nice envelope that was padded , he wasn't happy with what he received. It was a Grand Am GT leather shift knob. There was some leather that was messed up from the envelope for whatever reason. I told him I would scour the local junkyards for one in nice shape and I would get back to him. About a week later , I found one in NEW shape and we agreed I would mail him the new one and he would mail me the old one as I ate the cost on the new one.

Two weeks later, I haven't heard from him.

I haven't received what was agreed upon ,
I have PM'd here twice, emailed personal email once and even found him on facebook to ask.

Have not heard back, period. I don't care that it was something small or cheap, its about keeping your word and being a legit person and following through with what you say you will do IMO.

People here have bought stuff from me and can back up I won't screw you over.

That said. What would you do?

It's the breaks of selling stuff. I also got raked on a shift knob once. Beauty of that is ...it's cheap and overall you aren't out much. Some people suck and you can't help the one or two bad apples. Move on and realize it's part of life.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

Props to you for not dragging his name through the mud. Could be that you'll get this part tomorrow or maybe he has a legit reason for not getting back to you.

That said, unfortunately he could very well just be a douchenozzle. Unless he's been in the hospital or is dead... there's really no excuse.

I hate when people tell me they didn't have time to get back to me. I'm like, really? You couldn't spare 3 minutes in the last week to check your email and send me a message? BS.

If I don't get a message or part in the mail by next Monday, I will be looking up his info and giving him a call. I could've easily said "nope" and let it go but I went out of my way to help someone who wasn't happy with something that I was happy with in my personal car..

The LEAST he could do is mail back what he wasn't happy with.
