Na but a car with a loaded fuel tank isnt deadly.... dur. Cant always assume the fire is only located in the front.

Response times out onto the highway can be painfully slow. Even with lights and sirens going people are very slow to move out of the way. From watching this video, i'm betting these guys haven't put out alot of car fires...i see alot of stuff that should be done differently IMO. First off, opening the nozzle and letting it continue to run? That fire engine has a limited amout of water, it should be approx 500 gallons. At the lowest nozzle setting that is only about 5 minutes of water with it running continuously. Out on the highway water conservation can be critical. They are also standing about 8-10 feet in front of the vehicle. Thats ok for the initial fire knock down...but after that you can get in close. The key is to get the hood open quickly. The cable usually burns through so popping the hood latch is time consuming. Its much quicker and easier to pry the hood up around the hinges and then cut the hinges with bolt cutters.....and then open the hood....backwards. The tires blowing still makes me jump....LOL.
