I definately think they should have put the 2012 Shelby GT500 against it at least. With 444/380 power output against the zl1's 580/550 thats no match they always do that. But shelbys 550/520 would be a better match up for sure
They even explain it wasnt power that made most of the difference.
And again it'll be outclassed because the '13 GT500 will have 650/600...and still be lighter.
Like I said before it is just a back and forth war that'll never quit.
I like red on black, but the laguna seca is gross.
In other news, there was an '07 Roush 427 here on a local dealership lot, the original owners babied and garaged it.
This past weekend, some high school kid was driving it and smoking the tires tearing it up. Wouldn't be surprised if I hear it was wrecked soon. Some parents have their head so far up their ass, it's not funny.
I don't even care.
Here's what I'm interested in: 2013 GT500 vs 2014 Corvette.
Where will said Stang fit in?
I always consider cost placement.
Since the 2013 GT500 is a heavy 3850lbm savage that will possibly cost slightly more than a base C7, it had damn well better perform as well.
I doubt it will.
In the meantime the C6Z should embarass the GT500.
my thoughts too mech..the gt500 was brought back to fight the vette...as fords super car under the gt. but since the gt is no more...again, the 500 is fords vette chaser...not another camaro fighter. no matter zl1 or not...its still a camaro.
if the vetter would die off, then the camaro gets bumped to chevys number one contender. then, and only then, will it have to compete with the gt500
Apparently it would be neck n neck between a C6 z06 and a 2013 GT500. I heard it runs like an 11.7 @125. Which is basically what a Z06 runs. They need to revive the the Ford GT's again, now thats corvette competition.
the GT was a supercar.
It'd be ZR1 competition only.
What's chevy's supercar then...I mean, before the ZR1?
Because...in '05? was it...when the C6 Z06 debuted...I was still under the impression that the LS7 Vette pooped on the truck motor Ford GT...am I wrong?
I still am not impressed by either. Cars keep getting heavier (which is safety standards but still), HP keeps increasing (**** CAFE standards, the Volt and all of Ford's hybrids offset the gas guzzlers, so high HP cars will always be around....it's called beating the system...look into how CAFE rates the car company's, it'll be stricter in 2016, but still manageable), and people wonder why cars handle like crap for the most part...newsflash...the Titanic couldn't make it around the iceberg either in a tight spot.
Give me something like the Ariel Atom, with no computer crap, ditch the ABS, Traction Control, Stability/YAW management, and give me a six speed car with a big motor in a light body that tries to kill me.
Ala, 599 GTO with everything turned off?
Or, how about a Ferrari 250TR? Because, best car ever.
