speculation changes gas prices. sad truth about current economy is that most of it is based on speculation. hence why its very easy for current events to impact prices of any commodity.

Gas prices going up is going to $uck all the way around, not just at the pump but also in the stores...businesses will only absorb so much.
So the consumer is going to have to pay higher prices (think food, car parts, clothes etc.)...so in a way it is like we are paying for the higher gas prices twice...IMO.

Ok guys, time to get hydrogen in our engines without steam cleaning our pistons and blowing our engines lol. Honestly, we should start to look into alternative fuels, do a little research or something.

Don't get me started on people with food stamps. I worked at a grocery store for 3.5 years and I can tell you straight up that most of the people (probably about 70%) who have EBT (food stamps) don't deserve it. Most of them are addicts of some kind, wasting money on their addiction and using the food stamps to pay for food that even I can't afford. They just buy a bunch of **** food, and then go spend all their cash on tobacco products and lottery tickets. Also, the government encourages people to use ALL of the balance on the card, by means of reducing their monthly allowance if they don't utilize it 100%. And on top of the food stamps portion, some EBT participants get CASH on their EBT card -- cash that they can withdraw straight from the ATM, or use for any kind of purchase, including (and I have witnessed this on several occasions) tobacco and lottery. This one lady who was a regular actually did need the food stamps, but definitely not in the quantity that the government gave her. She gets over $2000/month on her EBT card, and also gets WIC on top of that. They really need to implement drug testing for qualification to getting food stamps, and for people who test positive they should need to be enrolled in and regularly attend a treatment program to qualify.

See what happens when you get me started? lol

lol confusing. Man 2,000$ a month for food sign me up! I could eat like a king! Well from I understood congress tried making drug tests for Food stamps and it was shot down for what I beleive was unconstitutional? If I read correctly, then how is food stamps constitutional? If it is EVERYONE should have it.

It reminds me of my old bosses neighbor. Owns his own business, failed twice. Got food stamps then 3 months later had a inground pool put in his backyard. Every week he has window washers clean his windows too. The amount of people that scam are insane.

Had a friend who was renting a house had a person come by with a Section 8 voucher, driving a Benz. She ran her own business. I guessed that she didn't make any money; but her "company" owned the car, and bought her food, clothes, etc.

Gas prices have always done the three steps up, two steps down routine for as long as I remember. It's a technique that allows the price to steadily rise while having periods of consumer happiness (when the price is dropping). Clever.
