not so much...we're just now getting to where hybrids and higher fuel efficient vehicles are available. it's not just certain people's priorities and lifestyles, it's the whole damn infrastructure of the USA. so yes, i blame the higher powers of the USA for not catering to the needs we have instilled in this country. gas prices are changing, cars aren't changing MUCH. they are changing, but not like europe.
and just as a side note, i wouldn't drive no damn electric toy car nor would i drive some smunched up little match box car.

Great. Western new York is always 20-30 cents higher then the national average. Seems like whenever I leave NY gas goes down , a lot

In Europe it's not uncommon for cars to average 40-50mpg, and some diesels will average as much as 70mpg. You really think if we had cars that got 80mpg gas would be cheaper? No, we would cut import equaling out the demand and guess what? The same dam price tag in the end. All electric wouldnt work either because they would tax you $2500 a year because your taking their oil profit away. Gas prices are a game. 3.39 right now, BAM 5.64 a gallon OMMFG!!! Then to play with your ass they drop the price down to 4.19 a gallon and keep it there. You sigh of relief when all the money bags are laughing at your sheep ass because they just jacked up the gas .80cents on ur ass and your happy the prices went down!!!! It used to be low 2's, sky rocketed to 4.19 when I had my truck, now 3.39. We are all being played like sheep. Electric vehicles has been around since the late 1800's. Why dont you tell me who is holding who back in the world.

If the price gets jacked because of Iran its because the world traders are freaking out and want to make maximum profit. You think they are gonna LOSE money? HAHAHAH. This is the time they make **** tons of cash.

If you want to sh*t yourself, look up and research how much profit the oil copanies and even refineries are making..

Re: So gas is gonna be $5/gal, and heres why...
Yup ever quarter is another RECORD profit. I forget what it is, but they make millions every minute.

A little perspective........
http://www.nationmaster.com/graph/en...asoline-prices
As you scroll waaay down to find the US at #101, remember that the US is a net IMPORTER.
Once the war with Iran begins following the 2012 election, five bucks a gallon is actually going to sound pretty cheap.

Re: So gas is gonna be $5/gal, and heres why...
Dont pay attention to Iran? Gee one of the Yahoo headlines this morning was that Iran stopped exports of oil to Britain and France.
Gas is going to be going wayyyy up no way around it yay just in time for summer damn it!

Re: So gas is gonna be $5/gal, and heres why...
Gas prices go up in the summer due to the difference in blends as well.

No, gas prices wouldn't be cheaper, but you wouldn't be using as much gas and thus wouldn't spend as much on it. You completely missed the point. Also, I'm aware of the so-called "gas price game", but unless you have some magical scheme for boycotting gas there's not really anything we can do about it. Changing your mood inversely to the gas prices doesn't help either.
And yes, electric cars have been around for quite a while. The only problem with alternative fuels/vehicles is that the energy (oil) companies own most of the patents for the technology, and they'll only start to popularize the alternatives when there's no more money to be made in oil. It's all about who can make a quick buck.

If everyone had a 80mpg car, government law, you would still be paying out the ass for gas. They would just keep raising the prices until the profit is the same. So it would be 13$ a gallon instead of $3.
And that patent thing is ****ing bull****. I know japan has a big patent on something for autos but wont put it to use. One day when I find extra cash I am gonna start with a electric go kart, max the distance and that then incorporate it into a motorcycle or car. Even if I NEED to charge it, it will be free.

Re: So gas is gonna be $5/gal, and heres why...
Gas went up here overnight.. I filled up yesterday at $1.16/L, today its $1.30/L. If you do the converting, thats $4.93/gallon
My rant about that, is the fuel in the tanks today, is the same fuel in the tanks from yesterday.

In Europe gas is MUCH more expensive than North America.
The gas is also "better" over there. I am under the impression that they don't have the same environmental BS like we do for our crap winter blend gas that takes 15-20% off of my fuel economy. I'll happily pay more for better gas, but not for watered down ethanol.
