Not sure if this is the best place for this thread...but I just wanted to let you guys who are going to school and interested in automotives that there's some money out there for ya. I won the scholarship for $1k a semester as a 2011 winner.

So anyways, they keep e-mailing me asking me to tell friends and what not. So I thought GPF would be the best place to find the crowd and quality of people deserving of it, for the most part lol.

    Here's what they e-mailed me:
    "Dear Brandon Lutts,

As a recipient of a 2011 Buick Achievers Scholarship, we would like your help to find and reach the Buick Achievers of 2012. Applications are now being accepted for the 2012 Buick Achievers Scholarship Program at www.buickachievers.com.

Once again, Buick and the GM Foundation want to help those who drive positive change in their communities and celebrate their accomplishments by helping to make their college dream a reality.

A few of the requirements for the scholarship program have changed from last year, but we encourage the following to apply:

    • High school seniors and current undergraduates
    • Those who plan to enroll full time at a four-year college or university in 2012/2013
Those who plan to major in a field of study that focuses on engineering, technology, design or business, with an interest in the automotive industry"

Again, go to the website and check the criteria, only certain majors are allowed and what not. But I'm sure this is helpful for somebody here

    Good luck!

    Brandon Lutts

p.s. if you need any help applying or have questions, i'm here, just PM or reply in this thread.

ARE YOU THE NEXT BUICK ACHIEVER?
It starts with good grades. But goes beyond.

A dedicated student. A leader in school. A volunteer worker. A college-bound and community-minded individual.
That just eliminated 9/10ths of the forum.

HAHAHA! please. i was a student council member for 1.5 years in high school. wrote that down. was in national honor society, wrote that down. wrote about a couple volunteer experiences. and yeah. so i mean, just spruce up what you really have. i just made my application look full by pooling the various things i did throughout high school. i never even held a position or anything in those clubs.
