Saw this on the news tonight. Seems like I've seen this car before. Look familiar to anyone else? Apparently, they broke into a house and stole a 312lb safe and tried to make a getaway. Video I saw said they were unsure why the car caught fire. Guess you should of got that recall done. LOL!

I thought they were only supposed to start on fire if they were in a garage, not actually driving... that's what the recall said. o_O

Could've been numerous reasons. I mean, why did they stop the car, get out, and THEN it started on fire?

Unless they car stopped running. They could've run it out of oil and just got unlucky, had a leak, some exposed wiring. I knew a guy who's car went up because he had a power wire running through his firewall with no grommet, and the bare metal eventually cut the wire casing and grounded out the wire. Bam, instant fire right there.

I got caught in the traffic for that crap yesterday. And by the time I got up to it, the fire trucks were just hosing off the road. It wasnt till I saw it on the news that realized it was a Prix.

Yeah right. I watched a Bronzemist burn to the ground on the side of the highway one day. Felt bad for the owner, but pretty awesome to watch. I'd rather ours roast on the side of the road than take my house with it. LOL

Well, I was just kidding about the recall being the reason for the fire. The point of the post was about the car looking familiar. I guess I was unaware the fire itself was going to get over-analyzed.

Seen a Bonne burn up on the side of the road round here. I actually know the person too, and the car was immaculate. She was driving and seen smoke and got out. End of story.

So perhaps I should invest in a fire extinguisher before HID fogs?
