So the wife has had a 2005 mitsubishi outlander for the past few months and we hate it now, a month back we wanted to fix the tie rod ends and it turns out that the ball joint is welded together with the control arm so we had to replace both control arms entirely since we would have to replace the joint sooner or later which turned out to be rather expensive. Now the radiator tank is leaking and needs to be replaced. I mean for a 2005 vehicle with no rust in the cooling system to leak from the radiator already just gives me a bad feeling about the overall durability of the components.
It comes with a nice pair of factory projector headlights that I have to admit have a clearer beam than my grand prix aftermarket projectors and they both use H1 bulbs. The part that sucks is that the truck's H1 bulbs are held down by sh1tty plastic connectors that literally break apart when you take them off to replace a bulb and then have to get new ones at the stealership for about 30 bucks each x.x
Besides that the throttle response is CRAP, you never know whats it going to do when you press the throttle, sometimes it takes off nicely and sometimes when you need it to downshift and take off to make a pass or at an intersection it just sits there on its a$$ for a second or two before it takes off
The suspension in overall is jumpy but feels right except in some occasions when the truck rocks sideways at a speed bumps, it does it so hard that you feel youre going to break a side window with your head.
The seat belts to that lame thing every single time that youre going to put them on that you have to pull them slowly or it will lock and cant pull them any further.
That being said she's convinced of getting a GM vehicle except it has to be an SUV, she don't want sedans so I've seen the Pontiac torrent has a nice look to it and read a few things here and there in the web, but I wanted to ask about any opinions or experiences that anyone might have had with these trucks.
