Thread: What do you all think about this... 93 Jeep Grand Cherokee

4 Wheel Drive


He was Asking 1750, I went to look at it, Turned out his brother was a Dealer and it was on his car lot.
This opened up a realm of possibilities, So I Told him that I, Myself work for a Car lot/Body shop in my home town. Which, I do. So I asked him his honest answer of what he has in it. He told me 1,000.
And told me if I can give him that+Sales tax+Lot fee. For a total of 1400 I can have it.

What do you think? Deal? Pass?

Id say if its mechanically sound/drives well it'd be a good buy. Def worth the money if that's the type of vehicle ur looking for. Make sure the 4wd works good and switchs in and out smooth. Good luck bud!

Well, Starts easy, Has plenty of power, Didnt hear any knocks or ticks on a cold start, 4Wheel drive does engage in both 4Hi and 4Lo

wow that looks almost like ours. and btw that's not a grand cherokee, just a regular cherokee.

we have a 94 cherokee SE. granted ours is rusted out and wrecked. BUT. that one looks like it has a decent exterior and body. and i see it has the 4.0L engine which is one of the toughest motors to kill that i've seen. we've never had a problem out of ours except water pump once. and its like 16xk miles or something.
if rust isn't a problem and things function, TAKE IT.

I say do it. Just be ready to do the u joints in the front axle. I think moog makes greasable ones...I miss my cherokee so very much.

The axle ones, yes there are greasable ones out there but as for the front driveshaft make sure you dont get the greasable ones or they will bind, i had to put plugs in and grind them flush cause i was in a pinch.

Well, That deal fell through. Kinda Pissed me off. Oh well. My boss came out of the woods ( not literally) with this. (I work for a Car lot/Body shop) They bough a Jeep back in 99 wrecked in the back, Hit about midway of the liftgate, And buclked the quarter panel. its a 96, 60K miles Jeep Cherokee Classic. 4.0 H/O. Its been sitting in his barn for about 10 years. Never been fixed.

I can get my hands on it for about 2 Grand running. Have about 250-300 in it for a new rear bumper and hatch. and another 100 in paint and materials. I might pull it myself or just take it to our frame guy.
Run me about 300 if i decide to let him do it. Books in at 4100.

2k for a wrecked truck that has been sitting for 10yrs! No f'n way!! He'd be lucky to get 1k for it! I bet if you throw him cash he'd take waaay les for it.

I paid 2200 for mine with 173k and wrecked/airbag deployed. Love it, these things are such rock solid vehicles
