is a 310?
I wanted dark green sleeving but I couldn't find any, I might just go with black.
I think they discontinued it, it was like the worst one you could get for a Dell Studio XPS computer.. Every PC needs good graphics.
I didn't even recall a 300 series.
I thought they skipped it.
Looking into it... All entry level products.
Your likely having a power supply issue or something with your mobo or something.
I have a 3.4 AMD 565 xII, 4gb ddr3 1600s, and a GTS250 nVidia card on a 500 watt PS and I play SCII on Ultimate, Skyrim on High (distance on Ultimate), WoW on Ultimate, and various others on highest settings with 50+ fps depending on the game.
A friend has a older AM2+ quad with 10gb of ddr2 1066s and a 5870 and can't match me on frame on matching settings because of either a Mobo issue or his PS is lacking.
A quad is nice when you need it, but a solid dual and fast ram will get you by just as well at the current moment. Like Dave said, were just now getting to use programs that take full use of a quad and even those are few and far between, by the time you really need to get a quad you will want to upgrade so a good dual works now and will save you money. Most of what you see is graphics anyways so thats where the bulk of your money needs to go, is a great single card or SLI/Crossfire decent/great cards.
That is my next upgrade for my comp is another GTS 250 and SLI bridge, and a couple more Tb HDs for more movies.
Ask your buddy what his GPU usage is at compared to yours.
That might tell you whats going on.
PSU issues typically result in freezing and restart issues.
Dual cores are useless now anyways.
I love my Dual, does everything I need it to do, I don't need a quad but I made sure my board is capable of upgrading to a AM3 6-core for when the time comes, until then I'm rocking a $80 cpu
I need to do a full benchmark to his, and see, but we swapped his card and his wifes card(which is better) and hers did the same thing and his card was fine in her tower. It glitches on both monitors unless a video is playing, but usage is little to none. Its like at idle it craps out, but hits a wall when you try and really use it, his frames are like 10-15 on moderate setting on all games. Thus why I said either his PS is lacking or his mobo is bugging out.
Did you play Deus Ex: HR?
You would have chugged through it. I know I did.
And its all because I was lacking two cores.
skyim isnt a cpu game, only uses 2 threads...so aslong as you are over 3.0ghz your fine, skyrim uses pre 2006 tech cpu wise lol.
try bf3, or dragon age 1..or 2, ghostbusters i can so many more that want more then 2 cores now adays, that why i have a 4 core overclocked to 3.5ghz, 6 core isnt needed for todays gaming but quad is.
as for that gpu.....wow....all i got to say lol.
go on kijiji or craigslist w/e is better in your area, go pickup a ATI 5850 or ATI 6850 OR NVIDIA GTX 460 1GB(OR 785MB) for $100. 10000000000000000x better
