I'm starting to think the infection is airborn. Both Shane and that kid were not bitten or scratched.
yeah or shane got infected when he cut his hand in the bus, then his blood got in the kids from the cuffs and then when they died they came back. but it looks like **** is going to knock the fan threw the ceiling next week.
They died though before they became zombies so maybe it only affects dead people?

The security guards had scratches on them. With Shane though I am assuming Rick used the same knife to kill him as the zombies when they were going to release Randall. And I am sure he didn't "disinfect" the knife when he got back to the farm....
no, im fairly sure it is clearly spelled out that it is airborn. how else would it engulf the entire world so quickly. if it were merely spread by saliva, scratches, blood, etc. it would have been too easy to contain and eliminate. they are alluding to the entire populace already being infected even when they are alive.
