So this was a while ago, but I was delighted to come home to the sound of rushing water. I thought to myself thats weird, no one lives with me. Open the front door, to see a nice river of water rushing down the stairs into the basement from the bathroom. Apparently the tank decided to crack itself where the supply line enters the tank. Thankfully it all just went in the basement floor drain, so it wasn't to bad.
Its just a car.......with rust and dreams for the future!!!!

Irridium spark plugs last 100k mi and work just as well as copper. Copper is a waste on N/A and only lasts 15k mi. Don't use Platinum.
Use 195* tstat unless you can thoroughly explain why not; 99.9% don't need a lower temp.
Almost any oil filter, ever, is of higher quality than ACDelco. Spend $6+.

same thing happened to me, my washing machine water supply hose burst, and i had 3 inches of water in a finished basement. not a good day.

i could hear the water rushing from outside the front door, and it was on full blast too.

ins paid for a nice check, so i just got new carpet and i saved all the furniture. my living room looked like a nascar garage, everything was jacked up to keep it dry.

oh and i had 4 fish tanks set up too, a 125, a 30, a 35, and a 55, all had to be broken down moved, and put back.

    Basement floods suck.

De-humidifier on the a/c froze and cracked, put about 2 inches deep on the floor.

But the worst was back at the South Lyon house where we had a well. The pipe that brings the water from the pump to house burst after entering the basement. TONS of water pressure and nothing would stop it except turning off the pump. To top it off, it happened on Christmas eve. So basically Santa was out of coal and decided to take our running water instead.

My mom had some local plumber install a hot water heater. They left, she didn't have any pressure. Called them up and they said that is normal. Couple hours later, same thing, calls them up, oh they are out of town and can check it out tomorrow. Mom calls me to go check it out. I go out to the water meter, and I can hear water pouring out like Goliath taking an explosive piss. Walk past the basement door inside and ye olde faithful was in the basement. The basement had probably 4 ft of water in it. My mom's neighbor came over and we started sumping it out. They show back up... yadda yadda yadda.... come back a few weeks later to check out the furnace. Said that her heat exchange is cracked and looks okay outside of that. For courtesy, they give her 10% off a furnace.

    /end rant
