    What a damn day,

Guess what head gaskets blew! I made it to 166K miles at least. Found a engine with 78K and they want $1500 total w/ Install at Morads. The place I took it to wanted $1,100 for my head gaskets LMFAOOO

    Head gaskets?

You sure it wasn't LIM gaskets?

Head gaskets 99.9% of the time never go bad on these cars.

Either way, gaskets are cheap and pretty easy to do yourself...

My hose had busted then i replaced it, took the cap off the radiator and was filling it, and I let it run for about 20 minutes after I capped it, and then the temp was past full so I took it to the shop, they told me head gaskets but I called morad, Its about time for a new one anyway, I want to cam it and all didnt want to do it on a 166K motor

So you're pulling out a perfectly good motor? Might as well fix the LIM gaskets on it and sell it. Just because the temp was high doesn't mean its a HG. It means you need to bleed the system, then again, and then yet again. You have air trapped in the system which is causing the temp to spike.

Unless they confirmed this with a cylinder compression and leakdown test then I would say its not a HG.

I'm thinking about camming my car and it has 202K on it. I wouldn't worry about camming a 166K motor.

x2 on the bleeding the system. did you take the little screw off the thermostat motor? cause if you didn't, there's a big air bubble in your cooling system, and therefore lack of coolant, and the cause of your overheating. price? $7 for another jug of coolant

You drove it overheating so much so it wouldn't start? Now you might need a new motor.
