To be honest I'm surprised this site allows political related threads, they always just turn into a flame war. Anyways imo, one way to help our economy and pay down gov't debt would be to raise import tariffs, and lower export tariffs, which imo would encourage production in this country, not saying it's a single cure all, but I think it would be one of many things that would help.

They have earned it. Let them have their steaks and fancy jets. If it pisses you off so much get creative. Think of something people will want then market it and you too can have the same. Or better yet start your own business and employ the unemployed. Oh wait that's right start up business taxes are high and giving out loans to small businesses isn't something that is on the current Presidets agenda.

LMFAO, I usually just lurk around these parts now a days, but this reply is laughable at best.

In my line of work, I deal with this "occupy wall street" people every day, yes, literally, I am standing at Zuccati Park where they are camped every single day.

I've spoken to at least 3 dozen of them, and every single one of them I always ask one question: "what are YOU protesting?"

The good majority of them have no idea what the hell they are doing their. They don't know what they stand for or why they do what they do. All they know is that their friends friend told them about it and they showed up.

So yea.........give me a break. The PROTESTERS don't even know what they are protesting, how is someone else supposed to back their cause!?

An epic waste of time for a bunch of losers without jobs. Best thing about it is, they are putting MONEY in my pocket, so keep it up guys!!!!

Who is the biggest economy in the world?? Oh yeah thats right.... U.S. and who has more natural resources than China? Oh yeah thats right, the U.S. China will run out of resouces before they over take us. If we fail, the world fails. You cannot blame this all on one person either.

My solution take away every tax deduction known. Corporate, personal, everything.

The only person at fault is not a president or a single individual it's all of us. But people are too blind to see that. Why should we tax someone more because they busted their ass to get where they are today? Why do they owe America more money to "fix" something we got ourselves in to in the first place. To me that's just not right. They have paid their dues why should they pay someone elses? I don't own a business, but if I did you better believe I'm going to freeze hiring if my business taxes are going to rise. At least until I know I can make ends meet which includes the employees I have right now.

To often people look for an easy way out and it's quite pathetic really. Bailouts are dumb so are stimulus packages and repackaged stimulus packages called "job creations."

People need to stop asking for handouts and take care of their own business. If a company fails then it fails. Obviously they did something wrong and need to reinvent their product.
I'm with you. Tim Barton just did a teaching called "American Exceptionalism". In it, he stated that we've lost touch with what made this country stand apart from all others.

You like Fox news and CNN don't you? They ALL know why they are there. If you don't understand it, it is because you have not informed yourself.

They are very organized and have MANY causes that they are protesting for. Again, if you informed yourself you would know that. This protest is so well organized that it has it's own newspaper! Again, you mention every news crew, Corporate owned media will provide you a one sided story. They all have different reasons for being there, yes. They all also share ONE purpose.

Can I moron? If you're going to criticize someone you may want to work on your grammar first.

You know about the 700+ Bridge arrests cool, you watch corporate bought mainstream media. About the bridge arrests, have you seen how they got on the bridge? They were lead by NYPD, then they were blocked in and arrested. It only worked in favor of the protesters though, because after being arrested, there is nothing else for them to fear.

Your views on the protest are a joke, your ignorance is not working in your favor.

They are actually not blocking traffic. Most of the protesting has been done from sidewalks and zuchatti park, but you already knew that from your corporate media, right?

They incited the police to beat them up by holding non-violent demonstartions? This isn't the 60's but that seems to be where your views are stuck.

What exactly did they say when you asked them? I'm sure all 3 had a very similar reason for being there. There is no ONE solution to the problem.

I am happy for these protests and I support them 100%.

I hope they spread all over the U.S, it's about damn time the American people realized they were being screwed over.

You don't like the way this country is running, YOU DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT, and that's what they're doing, hopefully.

Its not that easy. Its not one problem, with one solution.

The banks and the Federal reserve had a huge play in things, if you really care to understand how this happened, take a look at The Crisis of Credit Visualized - HD - YouTube

The banks are now finding other ways to take from their customers such as fees to use checks, and fees to use debit cards, which are $5 a month. $60 a year to use a check or debit card. If you don't hold a $15,000 balance month to month with citibank, your account will be charged $20 a month. I don't know how many of you have $15,000 in your bank account, but I surely don't.

The richest 1% is getting richer while the other 99% is getting poorer. The banks got their bailouts, where are the bailouts for the rest of the country?

These people's stories tell it all We Are the 99 Percent

After all your anti-protest remarks on the last page you say this, which means that you DO agree with the protest and everything it stands for.
