Thread: Screen Saver work underway

I just thought I would post up that the work on the Screensaver is in progress. I have all the pictures chosen and have a couple different background music options I'll try out. The major work right now is getting all the pictures on an even basis dimensionally. The resolutions are all over the place and Ive got to even them out and that is going to take some time to get them right.

I have about 25 pictures that Im using now out of all the submissions I got. A fair number of the submissions I got were just too low of a resolution to work with. Im shooting for 1280 x 768 minimum. I may have to drop that to 1024 x 768 to accomodate a few of them, we'll see about that.

For all the new people that have joined, if you want to send me an email with some pictures to be considered for inclusion in the screen saver project send them to me via email at syntheticshield AT cableone DOT net. Include your full name, screen name and of course the pictures.

Im looking for some good interior shots, especially those looking at the dash from the drivers perspective, minimal windshield in the picture. Some very nice pictures of gaugues, like the Interceptor gauges or any gauges like that, maybe even some of those with the pontiac logo on them.

If you have any good belly shots of the GP, Id like some of those too. Of course, it would be a bonus if the underside is exceptionally clean. Nice burnout pictures would be good too. I also need more Monte Carlo and Regal pics. I like to have some track pics, particularly of ones with the cars crossing the line or that can get the board with the time displayed would be nice too, but I realize that no everyone has a zoom lens on a digital camera capable of doing that. Again, resolution is the key here. 640 x 480 isnt going to cut it.

Anyway, just thought I would post this up so that everyone would know that I am still working on getting the screen saver done.

Silverbullet, go ahead and send in your pics. TDC, do the same. We've had a lot of new people join since I first brought this project up. So send them to the email I mentioned in the first post.

I sent you a few more Scotty. Some from the 2 BGPM events and various others. Not sure if I had sent some of these before, but I figured I would be safe than sorry

Ive gotten the emails that people have sent. Ive seen some pretty good Photobucket and Flickr pictures, bu the problem is that they are usually too low of resolution to be useful.

photobucket resizes the pictures when you upload them..... might be better just to send the pics directly from your PC.....

i jsut sent you some stuff and theres a special pic inside you will laugh hard haha

Morkuma, I went to the link you posted and the images are too small. If you could email some to me I would appreciate it. Im on a broadband connection so if you can send them, I can download them. I like some of the pictures you have so if I can get full res shots we should be good to go.

I would also appreciate it, when you send me an email, regarding the screen saver project that you do the following for me:

Subject: ScreenSaver Project

Then in the body, include your Full name and your screen name here on GPF. This is so that my email filters will organize the emails correctly. Someone sent a set of pictures to another email address of mine and I nearly deleted it because it got trapped by the spam filters.

Street Wolf, I got your emails, but after I had compiled the preview screen saver (though I used a couple you had sent before). So Im going to link to the screen saver installer to see what everyone thinks and if all is good I'll see about adding in some of your new pics.

Were all those HDR pictures?

If you're open to non-GPs I'll submit one for the final version.
