WHEN the zombie Apocalypse is upon us, What weapons will you choose to lead you to salvation? you are allowed one firearm and one melee weapon.

AA-12 Shotgun and
shop smart....shop s-mart
Two issues....
First. AA-12 shoots up to 300 rounds per minute. Good luck finding abundant source of shells.
Second. Chainsaws run on either gas or electricity. Either find abundant source of fuel and two-cycle oil... or carry around a constant recharging power pack.
Just thinking about reality.
Kill 3-5 zombies at once, can be used as a melee weapon also.

Assuming you can aim it right and hold it without it knocking you off your ass. I saw a video of a "big ole boy" trying to straight arm one of those and it kicked back out of his hands and almost hit him in the head.
Nice gun, but you better be able to shoot it.

My preference would be like NegativeOne13 ... Solid compound bow because you can make your own ammo or after you kill the zombie... just go and get your arrows back
But I think my melee weapon would be more of a Katana or other long sword... strapped over my shoulder/back its nothing to carry, sharp as hell (decapitation would be its main use), and long enough to keep me out of harms way should I HAVE to get close enough to use it.
After all Rule #1 in Zombieland is "Cardio" and if your weighted down by a big club, your not fast enough to get away.
I've shot one before. Sure, it kicks. But nothing you can't handle. Nothing close to those silly videos of them flying out of people's hands and smacking them in the face.
I find this funny. Because if you have hunted at all with a bow and arrow, you know that almost every shot at an animal ruins either the broadhead of the shaft. They typically can't be reused like you are thinking. My preference would be like NegativeOne13 ... And making good, straight, solid, straight flying arrows is hard. Not an easy task at all.
I never specified using broadhead tips. Blunt or even field tips would suffice penetrating flesh with a compound bow. And as for making the arrows, which would be easier and supplies readily available? Lead and brass including gun powder, or various pieces of relatively strong and straight wood? I know it would be hard making it precise enough to fly straight, but the relative use of this would be more beneficial than say a rifle and/or handgun. Also the power of the compound bow would making the flying part difficult as well. Just thinking more survival with what you have, than what you don't have.
I have the 4" barrel version and I can shoot a 3/4 inch grouping with all 5 rounds touching so yes it can be controlled lol.
I was thinking about that when I typed it. The reality of it happening... not likely. I was meaning the reality of it if it ever came so.
