If you had purchased $1,000 of shares in Delta Airlines one year ago, you would have $49 today! If you purchased $1,000 of shares in AIG, you would have $33. If you purchased $1,000 of shares in Lehman Brothers, you would have $0 today. But, if you purchased $1,000 worth of beer, drank all the beer, turned in the aluminum cans for recycling, you would have $214.
So the best current investment plan is to drink heavily & recycle.
It is called the 401-Keg Plan.....Drink up!!!

At least you could have used real number. Those figures don't add up or match anything.

    From experience, that'd be like 4280 cans @ 5 cents a piece to equal $214. 4280 cans / 30 = 143 30 packs and they'd have to be $7 a 30 pack at that. I wish this were true... lol

In college, we hauled in cans from our house a lot and our personal best was $257 worth, so we've done our share of investing.

I would buy 30 packs all day if they were $7 each again.

    Stewarts (Kwike-mart) has a beer you can buy for $0.75 a can or $2.50 for a 6-pack or $4 for a 12 and $7 for a 24 pack.

    Numbers still don't work out.

If you use FoSHO's number of $.05/can, spending $1000 at $7/case would get you 143 cases or 3432 cans and give you a return of $172.

Around here, you can't get $.05/can. They pay you around $.50/lb for scrap aluminum cans. It takes around 30 cans to equal one pound. So 3432 cans would be 115 lbs. At $.50/lb that is $58.

Not to mention your numbers for the stock prices are way off too.

This wasn't a serious numbers thread, this was a copy and paste from where ever I saw it; So its a Joke thread and yes I know my math was off for the beer, someone just said they never seen a 30 pack for $7 and I just brought up something that was close to the 30 pack, hence the 24 pack $7 and I can't imagine how god awful it must taste.
