So you would say its worth it? I mean from the looks of it I might be able to snipe one with only a cracked screen for $20

I've takin my iphone 3gs completely apart twice, I had to replace my screen and my touch sensor. It's really easy. There are two "parts" to the screen, the clear plastic outter part, which is usually ~$20, and then an entire screen (which i replaced) mine was ~$70. worth it considering I bought the phone off a friend for only $45.

It's either your entire screen (~$70) OR your front panel assembly (~20).
I used this site to replace everything.

    Hope it helps.

How do you know if you need to replace the entire screen or just the front panel?

If the entire screeen needs to be replaces would the touch screen functionality still work?

Ask if the ipod turns on... if it does.
    (1) if the touch buttons work and image looks normal (only the front panel is cracked)
    (2) if the images are all messed up (the crack is all the was through, you need new screen and front panel)

if the entire screen needs replaced none of the touch bottons will work, those sensors are wired into the actual screen, and not the front panel

If I was staying with a stock setup that would be nice. But im gonna be even more lazy! Tehcnically if i want to control it from something else I can just run my music through Bluetooth to my radio. But i like the idea of controlling what is played on my radio.... Well from the radio. Not as distracting as trying to select music from your phone when its illegal to text and drive (cops cant tell the difference)
