if your not in a hurry to sell it off, i would piece it out on e bay, maybe sell it off in clusters of this and that, bundle it so to say.
That's kind of a good idea. Make like 10-15 piece collections at a time, or driver specific collections could work too. I watch Nascar and appreciate it for what it is but I don't want this stuff just sitting at my house. Nascars are still mean ass cars but my heart is with and always has been with Indycars. I went to Indianapolis when I was around 10 years old and loved those machines every since. Stood in Danica's garage last year at Mid Ohio Racecar course and bull****ted with her pit crew, I'd give my left nut to drive an Indycar.
However this collection will make some collector very happy I'm sure. If it was put away for 30 more years it would be with BIG BIG money.
Re: Is this considered a car collection?
Good luck on the sale, nice snag on the collection.
I did read that you said there's no way the value could go down from what the price tag is on the box.
I have approximatley 125-150 Jr. and Sr. cars that are all action, no Winners Circle brand, etc. Trust me, it CAN and in many instances, does go down. :th_shakinghead2:
Re: Is this considered a car collection?
Nice, large collection..
NOW...take them all out of the boxes, and crash them into each other making lots of car noises.
Re: Is this considered a car collection?
The collection my uncle had completely dwarfs that collection. He was a NASCAR nut. When he died they had an estate auction that took up 6 large tables with nothing but NASCAR stuff.
Even though I rarely watch NASCAR anymore, seeing those pics put a smile on my face because it reminded me of my uncle. :)

I've got semi transporters with the die cast car with it also. Those are probably the oldest thing I have. I'm sure there's many specifics that aren't worth the original value. The collector I went to see today told me that I should easily be able to get $25 dollars or more per 1:24 scale car new in box unopened. I've got 30+ of those and he said the Elvis John Force car is worth more than what I paid for the collection. Also have some 24k cars and Platinum cars but only 4 or 5 of those. I don't know it is a cool collection though. At $25 per 1:24 and $5 per 1:64 all unopened I'd make roughly $1200-$1300 if I sold them all at once for those prices, there's a lotttttt of cars. Each of the 50th anniv Gold & Gold Chrome cars were $7.97 new back in the day. I may go ebay and or CL here soon still have some sorting, researching, and advertising ahead of me here :th_laugh-lol2:

Glad I could help revamp an old memory for ya :D
I'm pretty sure I'd easily take up 6 large tables it took my whole living room floor and that wasn't even all of it. Whole gtp trunk packed full and whole backseat. There's a ton of 1:64 scale but still a nice collection of 1:24 scale too.
Re: Is this considered a car collection?
i used to have one car...lost it awhile back, daymn...lol
but now i have a 1:1 scale car...
Re: Is this considered a car collection?
Take it to Pawn Stars lol.
That is a mega steal on that collection for $100 but I will tell you as a fellow "collector" that on 95% of those you'll probably never get sticker price. I would personally be going for the single buyer to buy the complete collection. Even though you would net less, it would save time and hassle for sure.
Good Score!

Re: Is this considered a car collection?
Nascar Collection 1:24 1:64 180+ piece collection NIB - eBay (item 290572121553 end time Jun-07-11 19:56:34 PDT)
Listed it has a high reserve so I know what people will be thinking. I'll relist with the intention on selling it at what the bid gets to if it doesn't sell.
Re: Is this considered a car collection?
That is awesome! Nice score for $100. I'm willing to bet I own more than half of the cars in your collection (plus a couple hundred more) but unfortunately all but a few of them have been opened. I was obsessed with Nascar when I was growing up. Too bad I didn't keep them all in their packaging :(
Re: Is this considered a car collection?
i think you may get some offers or the whole 1500, people are asking 60 bucks for a jimmy Johnson die cast 2010 JIMMIE JOHNSON #48 LOWE'S 5X CHAMPION1:24 | eBay
any one who collects this stuff seriously may bite. and thats a lot of stuff listed there. the hot wheels size ones are 6 bucks a piece too.

Exactly I wouldn't have been that quick to list every single piece if they weren't NIB's took foreverrrrrr.

From Johnny Benson to Jimmy Spencer to Buckshot Jones to Dale Earnhardt on to Ted Musgrave to even Dick Trickle there's a ton of stuff. I look forward to seeing what happens anyways.
Re: Is this considered a car collection?
I probably should throw it on Columbus Ohio CL too see what happens there too.:th_lightbulb:
Re: Is this considered a car collection?
put it on places that have tracks. somewhere around daytona, talladega, las vegas, indiapolis etc. i bet you would get a few more bites.

I'll probably take it to Bristol or Michigan if I still have it by then that's he closest tracks to me as far as NASCAR goes
Re: Is this considered a car collection?
The Cup series has a race at Kentucky now. And you could always try to sell them at Columbus Motor Speedway. Lots of hillbilly Nascar fans there, but most of them are poor lol

I'm not expecting to wake up with the buy it now hit but this HAS to be worth $1000 at least don't ya think?
Re: Is this considered a car collection?
Hell if I know. I mean yeah I'd think so, but I have no idea what that stuff goes for these days. It's one of those things where it's worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it. Just gotta be patient and wait for the right person to come along
