Thankfully it started receding. I was afraid that there might be a dam buildup of all the limbs and trash getting washed down stream.
As of this morning my basement still had water coming into it. I guess the landlord was over today and must have gotten the basement drain opened back up because there wasn't hardly any water when I got home from work. There is still water seeping in, but its draining back out on its own.

3 little words for you......you need fans.....
keep the air flow moving, and it will dry up so much faster, fan in a window pulling air out, window on the other side left open, and 2 or 3 on the floor moving air. keeps mold form forming. getting it dry as fast as you can is key.
you may need french drains installed around the perimeter and a pump installed. being its a rental, who knows how much the landlord cares.

generally they dont give a dam.
Re: POST WHORINGZ THREADZ!11!!1!one
No windows in the basement unfortunately.
I think once we go a few more days without rain the ground should start drying up and water should stop seeping. There are a lot of underground springs in the area and my theory is that that are "flooded" which isn't helping the situation.

I don't think its that he doesn't give a damn, its just that the house is so old and I don't think he necessarily think its worth it to install french drains. Also, he said that is the first time he had ever seen that much water in my basement, so hopefully it was just a freak occurrence.
The house across the road is almost as old as mine and the same guy owns it. He had the same issue in that basement with water seeping in.

Yeah, been to Butler a few times. One time in particular I was working on restoring a pool there, and the home owners had some HOT daughters.
Been to the Butler County Fairgrounds too. Butler is about hour and 45 minutes from here.
Re: POST WHORINGZ THREADZ!11!!1!one
i used to install these fans, they were for mold prevention, pretty much to keep air moving through the basements. you cut a 5 inch hole in the door atop the stairs from the basement, ( we put louvered covers over the holes) then cut a hole in the foundation for a exhaust vent, (opposite the stair case) then this box with a fan it it got mounted on the wall.
it pulled the air from the floor, and out the vent. you could smell the musty smell leaving with in an hour of it running. it also had some kind of humidity detector and would run the fan as fast or slow as it need to be running at.
