Why don't u just do headers for a few bucks more
I've read the headers vs power log arguments a million and a half times, but every time I come away from it feeling like the power log is just a better option for the non-boosted l26.
I understand that headers are the best exhaust mod for flow, but I've read in a few different discussions that flow is the most important thing for a blown engine with extra air being forced in, all that matters is getting as much as possible out so the next charge can get as much as possible in. For an NA engine, though, exhaust velocity is important, those gasses should be moving fast and smooth as possible.. and while flow is important and you shouldnt be choked, too much flow will slow the velocity and create turbulence, so it seems like more of a balancing act.
Which is why I'd lose a lot of low end torque, not a lot of rpms = not making enough exhaust to create some pressure and velocity in the header pipes, and then as the rpms pick up, there will be more exhaust to fill up the pipes and create more velocity, less turbulence. A supercharged engine has more exhaust at lower rpms due to a denser charge, so less of an impact on the low end torque.
That's just my half-baked noob understanding of it, so I may be way off.
I dont ever go to the track, and Im not gunna be launching from every stop light, so it just seems to me like having no low end torque, and then having all that power in the high end would be a waste to me, since I'd rarely actually use it. Just want a fun dd!
If I ever did wanna go boosted I'll just wait till I have some extra money and then sell off my aftermarket parts, so it'll be alright, then I'll go to the track, lol.

FWIW between the cracking and out of stock forever issues, I'd almost say the headers would be a better option. But a used Plog might be the way to go. Especially if it was rewelded.
They will be back in stock beginning of May. We’re going to do a discounted preorder price shortly.

Sweeeeeeeeeeet, I'll have my income tax check by then
Also, I thought the cracking was a problem with a previous gen, wasnt that fixed with the newer ones?
It's not even 100% fixed on the SS. I've seen cracks on all types and gens. Also seen posts by people that weld for a living that said it was a welding issue because of how it was welded etc.
