An industrial tech is struck with hydraulic fluid at 600 psi, while checking for a leak. His injury left him with an index finger amputation, and dead hand tissue. Saw the full movie today, has anyone ever seen this before?

you should see some of the industrial safety videos about arc flash. people standing there working in a live box then BAM: 'splosion and a guy running around on fire.

ive personally never seen it happens. common rail diesels run crazy high line pressures. if you crack a fitting on any of the fuel line past the injection pump it will inject diesel into your skin. heard it can kill if it gets to your heart.

My tractors, one a gas burning John Deere 300 GT that has hydraulic assist on everything, and my diesel burning John Deere 650 C.U.T. the owners manual says never test for a hydraulic leak, (for both models) and a fuel leak on the 650 with your hands.
It can not only cut you open, but ya, getting the hydraulic or diesel fuel under your skin or in it, can cause many medical issues, or even death.
The hydraulic pump on my 300 is in the 1200 to 1600 PSI operating range. Not sure on the 650, never read on that.
My brother was showing me a pump on a diesel engine at his work that pumped so much oil pressure the hard formed lines were double walled for pressure and safety. The pump was VERY expensive, and cant remember what the PSI was that it put out. It was on a V24 engine. (Pretty much 2 V12's bolted together) One big S.O.B. for sure.
