I'm running a 120GB OCZ Vertex 2 SSD and 2 Caviar Black 1TB drives for storage in my desktop. Love it.
If I were to buy a laptop, I would get another Vertex 2 for sure and use an external drive for storage.
The space on the SSD runs out quick. It formats to 100GB then allow about 15-20GB for Windows 7. As long as I don't keep any music or videos on it, I've had no trouble with space so far. In the near future, I may have to uninstall a couple games to make room for Crysis 2 and Portal 2.

I've never heard anything but bad stuff about ASRock. ASUS ftmfw.
