Love how the marching band is just playing in the background, LOL. And I was just considering Dodge's new Ram with the 20MPG 390HP V8. Maybe I'll wait. My uncle's V10 Ram caught fire a few years ago. That fire came from the transmission. Would of hoped they had these things fixed by now.

Where have you guys been? Dodge has been having transmission issues since the mid 90's.

Yeah, I know most Chrysler transmissions used to go out at 75k cause they were using plastic parts. But besides my Uncle's, hadn't heard of fires. My uncle was backing up with a trailer close to 20,000lbs on a rainy day in the dirt. He thinks it's their high gears for reverse. He said one day he was chasing a deer in the field going 40mph in reverse with plenty more throttle to go. 3rd transmission, damn. I'm thinking all these transmissions made today with the 6 speed tap shifts are crap. I was considering finding a vehicle with a CVT transmission like Nissan has now.

Something that I don't understand is I have a 2000 Silverado 4wd exteneded cab, 8 foot bed and towing package.

It's the average looking truck and I don't drive it like a retard, yet a ton of newer Dodges try and race me on the highway. They have a 6 speed, they have more horsepower etc and they are much louder. Yet everytime I beat them to my 98mph limiter. There's never a question of if the shortbed 2wd Dodge is going to win....

My truck has a K&N panel filter in it. That's it's only power mod.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

They said it was overheating. My shot in the dark is that maybe it had a coolant leak, low coolant, overheating burned up an injector o-ring and it started firing on manifolds or something.
