So I had a processor fail on me lately.... rather unhappy with that. However, after going through the standard RMA crap as any company and getting it approved (saving me $150) I get ready to ship it out and then a second e-mail comes through. AMD is paying for my shipping back. I think this is the first time I have ever had shipping on an RMA covered. For this alone AMD will always have my business over Intel... Until they screw up, however, I loved their customer service very friendly

It is standard for most companies to pay one way with a RMA some companies will even pay both ways.

Im an intel guy, i7's ftw. I used to have amd's, back in the day of the x2 dual cores and now have been with intel ever since. When my asus laptop started messing up, asus paid overnight shipping both ways, had the thing back in like 5 days. I am always with asus now, wont buy anything else.

Alienware here. Went from a 2004 Dell 8800 or something like that to my 2010 Alienware M15x with i7, Nvidia 260m graphics card, and 4 gigs of ram, as well as the 1920/1080p screen. HUGE UPGRADE! Love computers. But yea I like intel better, always had one always will.

Used AMD for about a year...had 2 processors fail on me...tested the board, everything was fine.

Went back to Intel....Loved it. RMA'd both AMD's and got my money back out of them, selling them later.

Had a dual core Intel...loved it.
Got a quad core...loved it more. OC'd it to over 4Ghz stable. (water cooling ftw)
Got an i7 setup....whole computer got stolen, someone broke in, took that and my guns.

So Im back to an Intel Quad core. Water cooled cpu, ram, and dual 460GTX's.
I love my Intels...they've never broke

Trust me I know i payed more for the alienware. But you know what? I am happy as hell anyways. Laptop has been great to me. Sure it set me back $1800 but this thing is a tank! And looks beautiful. I think of it like when someone buys a Lamborghini. They are paying mostly for the name. Either way im happy. Had a Desktop buy I was sick of not being able to play games at friends houses.

IF I wanted a huge e-peen I would have bought an i7, but for what I do my Phenom II X2 550BE works. My 550BE gets just as many frames per second in most games as an i7 920 with the same video card so there was no justification in spending another $300 on parts.

I run whatever I can get for less.

    Brand loyalty is stupid.

    Best product wins my vote.

I just bought a zotac GTX 460 768 mb/192 bit, new antec p183 case and the matching power supply........

Got some hand me down P35 board, Core 2 Duo CPU, 4 gigs of OCZ ram.

I can run metro 2033 on the highest settings windows XP lets me run. (DX9C)

    1920x1080

    no slow downs.

    Same with fallout NV.

I really dont see the point in spending money on having these super rigs when generally its just one piece holding you back.

Note: zotac card failed in 3 months. Tried to get them to pay for the shipping out to them.

    Instead I got this:

    Hi Matt
for RMA return, customer have to ship back by themself. And if the card is defective we will send back the replacement to you. Thanks.
    And thats a direct C&P.
