I'm an old school desktop user, familiar with digital cameras and phones and webcams and such. Haven't bought anything in years and current trends indicate I had better get a dash cam going. I learned a lesson, so to speak.

So link me to something you know is easy to use and has reasonably high res. But it has to be fairly inexpensive. I've not done a great deal of research, counting on the experiences of those here who use them to cut through the trial and error, y'know? Where do I look, to avoid the bunk junk?

I've bought the cheap ones and don't waste your time and money. Get a GoPro.

I have the blackbox G1WH Works well. Suction cups are useless, you need the 3m double sided tape mount.

Hey, theres a start. Thanks, gents. Might consider doing a "stealth install" in the HUD pod if I can find an easy way. Theres a couple more regs here I think, that run them also. I always prefer the walk in and carry to counter approach to purchases like this, so I guess I'll find what i like then see who sells them at the right rate. Off to research some-

Hey, cool! Theres not a huge amount of cash involved, the tech is sufficiently aged now! I'm gonna watch the vid now but that rig looks like a fine choice.

hey Judge, I'm thinking maybe GoPro now, for the fire breathing burnout machine. Must!

Honestly I'm really picky with a dash cam, well maybe not so picky but just want something that works correctly. All 3 I've bought have their quirks, all did the job though (mostly)
I'm gonna repost this because this is the best advice I've seen. It will help me purchase my 4th cam lol. http://dashboardcamerareviews.com/category/favorites/ Nice selection

Been reading up on them a little, thanks for stoppin in. Vids some of you guys post look pretty good to me so I thought I'd ask if there was a favorite among the group. I'll pick one and try it. Still pretty freaked out about driving, period.

I wanted a GPS one, but then my friend said that can also burn you if you are even just a tad over the speed limit

Go pro is a battery...and requires user interaction...also costs way too much.

Dash cameras, hooks in to only turn on when driving without having to touch it, only costs $50 so if some one breaks into your car and they steal it, oh well.

Go pro is good for somethings, but not everyday driving IMO.

I currently have the Mini 0803 with GPS and 16gb internal memory. Got it off e-Bay for $120 last year.

The mini 805 is a serious consideration for my next cam.

My 803 has been working flawlesly, so other than being able to run a larger memory card, I think I will wait a bit before upgrading. Although, a camera on every window would be nice. LOL

Yeah I could use a rear cam, i have tailgaters and other craziness behind me too. 64 GB capabilities are a must for my next one, I don't review footage much and if I wait too long, footage before or after I've pressed the save button is gone.
