So starting next month, they are installing those automatic radar things that takes a picture of you rear license plate and then they send you your ticket to your home along with a picture.

Same as in the US, it is a requirement that the picture is clear in order for the fine to be processed.

The speed limit is ridiculous, 50 mph and I have to drive on that avenue everyday to get to work.

So planning a bit ahead, I wanted to ask you guys if you've tried those license plate covers that look blurry from an angle or any other thing for this matter.

Since it's a new thing around here, there is no legislation that forbids having those devices installed.

i know there is a product that you apply to the plate itself that makes it refective so that when a picture is taken it just a reflection and you cant read anything on it.

that **** dont hold up in court. they gotta prove you were driving it. if you got a ticket for that all you gotta do is dispute it and say i never drove that day. if they dont have a pic of you in the car while its speeding they have no right to ticket you. thats the reason my town dont have em. its pointless.

this is very true..how do they know your car isn't stolen and your home sleeping absolutely clueless...then you wake up and your like "dude where's my car?"...then like 3 days later you get a bill in the mail for a ticket..IMO this radar stuff is dumb

There are also "dust covers" that do that. Smoked lens, highly reflective when light is shown on them, dust protection covers for your plates... Very illegal anymore in the US, but if mexico has no laws on them, thats a start.... if you can order it anymore. Just another thought...

The sprays are also very illegal because mythbusters proved they do work so law officials put a ban on them for most of the US states, but if your gonna break 1 law, whats another while your at it?

thanks guys I'm gonna look up that spray. I also heard they sell that kind of stuff in the local autozone. I think i'm also going to watch that myth busters episode once again, but pay more attention.

there's also a lot of retards walking the streets that steal everything they can get their hands on. I mean EVERYTHING. they even climb up the cell phone antennas and steal the copper components.... seriously. They also steal plants, yes flowers, but the whole plant, light bulbs on houses. I actually leave used car batteries just on the sidewalk, because I know someone will walk by and take it and they do! LMAO. Anyway I'm hoping one of these retards do their thing on these devices they could be useful for once...

Hahah there was a guy on the news that was stealing wire like that with a friend and he fell and broke his back and his friend bailed and left him there to get caught I live in a neighborhood like that someone stole a fake tree off my porch?

Im no to sure on what to do with your plate, Iwould think some sort of clear coat would work for a glare. I have been speeding past one on the way to the st paul from duluth gong about 90-95 in a 70 past one and I never got a ticket? lol

A while back in Dallas Tx, there were 2 guys trying to remove the copper from a telephone pole or a junction box on it or something to that effect. It was nasty, the cable was strewn about the ground, the cable cutters were red on the top, burnt to black on the rest of it, and both guys were completely fried. Appartently nobody bothered to inform them prior that the amps and voltages were deadly.... they found out the hard way. They started a small grass fire around them in about a 10ft radius... bad set of pictures emailed to me but its stuck in my head, can post in the free-for-all later for those that wish to see

In canada.... our main highway (401 aka the highway of heroes, yes its actually named that) is aircraft patrolled.

There are markers on the highway and they can time how long it takes you to cross them and base weather not you were speeding on that.

Speed limit is 100 kph and i do 120-125 kph on it all the time.

Last two trips to the states I was on it for a total of 12 hours each trip.

    No ticket?

Might it be that the OPP will pass me slowly while i'm doing 120?

I think I'm going to get either a license plate cover or the spray. I guess as long as the cops don't complain about it, it wont do any harm.

It's funny to hear at least those guys got harmed or killed while stealing that ****. I hope they were not that lucky around here.

Another thing they steal around here is the sewer covers on the streets. Also they go into brand new houses that are still not inhabited and steal all the cabling too...

Too bad we don't get to hear they get caught or harmed while doing this as often as I would like.

did u read the link above?

    • Glitter license plate: contains 'microcrystals' to deflect the speed camera's flash.busted
    • Lenticular plastic cover: distorts the plate when viewed at from an angle. The plate remained legible, though partially distorted, for both Adam's camera and the speed camera busted
    • Plastic wrap: very legible busted
    • Commercial spray: very legible busted
    • Hair spray: very legible busted
