I am new to this page as of today, I currently am associated with the Mach1 page as I have an 04 Mach1. Hope you guys are as cordial.

I just recently got an 04 GTP in March, GM Cert. vehicle with only 24K on it. I love it, she drives great, nice acceleration, smooth ride. However, recently, past couple weeks, I've noticed a quirk with the tranny, when slowing down to almost a stop, then accelerating (like when in traffic) she tends to upshift harshly.

Took it to Pontiac yesterday, they claim it's normal behavior for these cars. No codes were thrown, they road tested it and she's fine,,,,,hmmmm.

Anyone else encounter this behavior and am I to prepare for a possible tranny rebuild? I have a year remaining on the extended warranty, so I won't let this sit idle.

    Any help / comments appreciated.

    Welcome to the community.

We have amongst our membership the nations best 4T65E trans builder. If you post over in that section (the 4T65E section) then he will likely see your post and offer some assistance and guidance. Perhaps he can get it narrowed down to something more specific so that you can have the GM shop look at it..
