I find this to be bs glad i dont live in Ohio

ANTON, Ohio - Homeowners who don't mow their grass in the northeast Ohio city of Canton now face stiffer penalties — including possible jail time.

The city council unanimously passed a law Monday that makes a second high-grass violation a fourth-degree misdemeanor carrying a fine of up to $250 and as many as 30 days in jail.

The previous law only made the first violation a minor misdemeanor, with a fine of up to $150 but no jail time. The new law is to take effect in 30 days.

"This is the type of action we need to take in order to clean up our neighborhoods and our city," Mayor William J. Healy II said.

The laws are an effort to reduce the roughly $250,000 the city spends to cut about 2,000 private lots each year and to address public complaints, Councilman Greg Hawk has said.

We can't have grass weeds higher than 10" here. But I totally get it. We have a huge mosquito problem, so I can only imagine what it would be like with weeds all over the place. They give you a notice that you have to take care of it in 7 days or show up in court. If the city has to cut it, you either pay the bill or they assess a lien on your property. I can't imagine having to go to court over something that ridiculous. Really. But my opinion's biased since I'm on the poa board, too...

In my neighborhood, it's just common sense to mow your yard, I get it too, nobody likes a trashy looking town. I guess I should be thankful that my neighbors are considerate of my work schedule sometimes, and don't complain when my grass gets over 3 inches high.

I wish there was a law like that around here honestly! I'd vote yes in a heartbeat!

I got a next door neighbor who is bad about mowing there lawn and it pisses me off amongst other things. The guys wife sits on her fat ass and doesn't leave the house. Shes so lazy that there kids gotta do the trash, get the mail etc. Worthless POS. Her husband has an 8-5 job and he's no better either. He goes in the house and thats about all he does. The dumb leading the dumb there. I've called the city on them a time or two.

I work all kinds of hours, all hours of the night, I work weekends and holidays and I can take care of my ****. Theres no excuse why they can't either. Call me a hardass, but with there hours I work, theres no excuse. Especially with one NOT working and the other coming home at 5:30pm. We both work full time jobs, though mine is a little more "full time".

I live in a pretty nice neighborhood and i try and stay active with the homeowners group. I want my area to stay nice for many years to come. When I leave, I want to make money on my place so I can upgrade.

They have to free up jail space, so let's let out some more murders, rapists and child molesterors and lock up those who don't mow their lawn enough.

No, IMO opinion people that are murders, rapists and child molesterors need the gas chamber to free up jail space for the morons of the world.
