Depending on your age...its probably a safe bet at some point in you life you have had a strange coincidence either good or bad. I imagine I am older than most readers and have had a few coincidences over the years. A number of them car related since I have sold over 300 of the 1986-1987 Turbo Regals and others that are more people related.

Here is a People short story one:

Maybe 15 years ago we got word my Uncle was on his death bed at a nearby hospital. My Uncle and I were quite close as he was into cars as well. When we got the call that morning we got in my car and was rushing to the hospital. About 20 mins out a strange feeling came over me like a chill as it happened I glanced at my watch and todl my wife I think we are too late. When we got to the hospital he had passed away and I inquired as to the exact time of death......it was the same time I had looked at my watch.

    Second quick People story:

Came back from Vietnam in 1967 and recently married. I was at a gas station with my wife when another car pulled up to get gas opposite side of the pump I was using. I went in to pay for the gas and when I returned my wife said the driver of the car across from us kept staring at her. He was in uniform.

Here it was one of my buddies from my unit who had flown into Philly airport rented a car to drive home and stopped for gas. (We lived about 35 miles ourtside of Philly). The reason he stared so intently at my wife is because in our barracks I had one of the local Vietnamse woman hand paint a portrait from a photo on a canvass picture that hung over my bunk. He of course bunked across from me and instantly recognize the woman as the same one in the painting.....He didn't live near us but in another state and just happen to be visiting a relative before heading home.

    Both are true stories.

    Got one to share?

I met my best friend when I was a freshman in high school, on the first day, during first period. I was picking up some papers and heard my own voice behind me. As it turns out, we had about the same voice and it's only gotten worse over the years. So that's how we started talking to each other and why folks think we're brothers.

About six years after meeting him, I was telling a group of mutual friends about this one time I played an online text based game with some random person, and he chimed in to finish the story - as it turns out, we met online about two years before his family moved to my town and we met in person.

I moved from NY about 8 years ago and had a best friend who lived in the same town as me up there. It sucked that I had moved cuz we were mad tight and played football as young teens plus we had lost contact from each other. Well 2 years later, im at church and see my friend walk in outta nowhere with his mom and sis turns out he moved to the same town as me just 5 min from my house down here in FL. We are close boys again going almost 10 years strong.

Once while on the job in Tiawan, I ran into some non-asian people from my own home town in the US.

Above entries prove the theory its a small world

here is another story from my past:

Back about a dozen years flew out from PA to Michigan met up with a friend of mine to pick up a turbo regal near Flint. Good friend of mine at Buick gave us a personal tour of the engine plant in Flint which built the 3800 engines...

We spend the nite in a small town in Michigan. I get early the next day which was Saturday to get temp plates to drive the car home. A detour on the main street in this town takes me down a side road.....I see a garage sale sign on a front lawn with a bunch of stuff on the lawn for sale including a kitchen sink. Weird...I had time to kill so I stop and look over the stuff for sale. A see a box of books all priced at 25 cents a book. Among the books I see one I recognize entitled 666. So happens the author is my Dad and he wrote the book some 15 years earlier.

I take the book up to the lady selling the stuff and tell her I know the author of this book quite well. I said heck I can probably call him up on the phone and let you talk to him. She doubts what I am saying so I then pull out my PA drivers license and show her my name as my middle name is the same as my Dads first name. I get my Dad on my cell phone and tell him I can pick up one of his books for a mere 25 cents should I buy it? I then put him on the phone with the lady. She could not believe it....

    Its a small world...

his books show up on amazon and ebay from time to time.

Oddly enough, was just discussing the recent Rapture craze after a metal show in Philly. The discussion somehow led to the conclusion that the Rapture had indeed happened, but that the only one found worthy was Randy Macho Man Savage.
Despite the less-than-inspiring reviews of that book, I have a sudden morbid fascination with a fictional account of the event, because after my somewhat in-depth study of similar material a couple years back, it never occurred to me that someone would have an elaborate fantasy about it, and then get it published.
