Yeah its just an idea in my huge imagination that would be cool if it were possible. The biggest problem I can see is having to convert it to RWD cause that 6.0 is gunna take up space

vrrooooooooooommmmmmmm
The part that hurts the most is I can get 6.0s easily
I wonder if anyone has tried boring out their 5.3
anything is possible with an ass load amount of money
If I sell my truck I will have to think this out
If your going with a 6.0 block get the newer alumninum ones. The lQ4 and LQ9's are going to weigh done the frt end of the car unless you offset the weight with stiffer springs or lighten frt end components.
You can bore out your block to 3.905" bore making it a 5.7L. Just use lS1 pistons. You wont be able to go to a 4.00' bore in the 5.3 block due to the thickness of the cylinder walls being to thin. You could also use a 4.00' crank and get 383 ci out of it.
Damnit.
No.
Easy solution.......buy a second or third gen. Factory engines went as high as 455 (7.2L). With the cost involved with buying the motor and converting a FWD to RWD, you could probably get a second or third gen plus a Chevy 572 crate motor.......car would haul ass plus you and seven of your friends; four in the seats and three in the trunk. Would pass just anything except a gas station.
the bad thing about the ls4 is dod and aftermarket. but alot of ls stuff will fit. i believe ls6 heads fit and remove the dod whilst boring it to a 6.0 and done.
Buy a 6.0 goat? Oh wait you want a 6.0 rwd pontiac..... hold on thats exactly what that is, and would cost a lot less leaving you money for more good fast stuff and beer.
LS4 has LS6 heads I'm pretty sure...its teh epicly TINY intake manifold/TB that kills it...and the fact the cam is a .498/.498...and yup...DOD too.
Most people who cam the LS4 just delete DOD...at least that's what I figured.
Buy a 62 grand prix and drop a 6 litre in that....
62= best looking GP ever made.
by that logic so was the Impala
so thanks for ruining what was considering one of the great muscle cars.
