Anybody ever done anything about this? I have a 98 and when I have the cruise on I don't have any light to indicate that it is on. Not a huge deal but would be nice if there was some wa y to make a light or some sorta indicator that cruise is in use.

I wondered the same thing; My 2000 GP GT has no notification that cruise is on either. So there's my trim level. Not a big issue, just a bit of a nagging one. BackInBlack, you have a fix/solution?

If your asking for coupe or 4 door, it's a coupe. Standard GTP interior with leather.

can't you just let off the gas to see if you are still in cruise?

I know, I know. Just kidding. But I have owned and driven other cars that indicate this, and I don't miss it on my GP. Just sayin...

I've never left my cruise control on expecting to coast down, but I can see how some people might. Personally, I've gotten in the habit of shutting it off by the switch on the turn signal stalk every time.

Id be interested in this as well. Ive gotten used to not having it, but it would be nice to have a visual indication. But I guess Ive come to take for granted that if an emergency situation ever arose, the first thing you're going to hit is the brake which of course disengages the cruise control.

^^That's pretty much what I do. I just happened to be driving down the road the other night and noticed that I was basicly driving the car just looking at most of the gauges and the hud. Then it dawned on me that even though cruise was on no light indicators were for it. Kinda funny, but these cars came with everything but some of the simple things were left out.

OK, try this. The wire at pin A will show the status of the switch on the stalk. The wire at pin J should show if the cruise is actually active. All you need to do is tap the wiring at the cruise module and add your resistors and LEDs.

Do you mean add your own LED's in the dash?

Yes, you will be required to add your own LEDs and resistors. If you want to drive indicators that draw more than ~30mA, you will need to build a driver circuit so as to not overload the module outputs.

Also, be aware of pin locations, as some wire colors repeat.

I was just wondering if there was a CC light in the dash already that just wan't being used. Like the performance shift light in my dash that isn't being used.

My GP GP has the performance shift light, and it's not in use. Just depends on the car. He's in a GS, so he might have it and its in use.

What car do we want the CC light in? I assumed 97-03 GP, for which this will work. I'm not sure about the Regals. If you want to drive an incandescent gauge lamp, you'll need a few more parts to complete the circuit.

My mistake. Probably his GTP. It's not a big deal to me. Heck, the folks on CGP were buying the external tape players, putting in continuous tape connections, or splicing wires into the cable to get an audio out. I just found it easier to put a tape adapter into and be done with it.

My GS has a CC light and it works. I was just wondering about the GP. I am not going to go out of my way to have a CC light in that though. I was just wondering if they ever had one.

I was part of all that, you know... Sounds way better than the tape adapter... I'm also the guy who rewired the Delco sub amplifier and stuffed it into my car to drive some Altec Lansing 641 subs. That went over well...
