As I was installing the Subs and amp this weekend I was giving the setup a trial run. I was VERY impressed as it sounds so good. I was even pleased with how it all sounded on the stock HU. So I decided to stick with the 6disc monsoon. Then as I was showing the wife the setup and letting her sit in and listen...... I was changing tracks by using the forward button on the deck instead of the usual stering wheel. A tiny chip of paint came off the forward button! I was EXTREMELY upset as the red glow of the light shows the chip bad. After about 10 minutes of me cussing and yelling my wife looked at me and said ... "you have OCD I think". Am I the only one who gets irritated even at the smallest thing? I know it could have been worse but when you put so much time and money into something its frustrating when things happen like this. Now I know that theres NOTHING wrong with the monsoon but because of that tiny little chip I know that I now will replace it because that will annoy me. OCD? Maybe, but this is my baby and I think I have every right to be. Right....?

Join the OCD club. I can drop something and all I have to do is bend over and pick it up, but it seems to just trigger that little thing in the back of the brain. And I start cussing at it. But, it always seems to happen at the wrong times. As for your HU, I completly understand, thats your baby. Maybe a little touch up paint to match might help. You'lll know the difference, but it will help hide the chip.

Hi Lee, the first step is admitting you have a problem.

I always thought there may be a chance I may have OCD. However, my wife, being in the medical field, confirmed it by giving examples of this over the last 22 years

I was driving home last night and just as I was talking to the GF about finally getting everything in the car just the way I wanted it I looked down and noticed my volume steering wheel control light was out. The controls still work just fine but it's pitch black. I started cussing up a storm and then I sat and thought, damn I really do have OCD.

Hi! I'm Chuck and I have OCD.

I used to be like this. But the more I drive my car, the less I am like this. I am beginning to realize that cars were made to drive. And the more I drive my car, the more stuff is going to go wrong. Sure, I will take the time to fix it and replace stuff when it goes bad. But I don't get upset anymore. I just take it as it comes. If I wanted a car where everything was perfect, I would buy a new one and pay $500 a month for it. But I will keep my old car, and keep fixing it for much less than a new car payment. And I won't ***** about it either.

As stuff breaks... I see that as a perfectly good excuse to upgrade.

X2. I beat the ever living hell out of my car anymore. I've opened my fridge in the garage and had the door smack the front bumper. I've had the wooden handle of a rake hit the drivers side rear quarter.

Just doesnt phase me anymore. Since Jess and I bought our house, I've been paying all attention to getting it fixed up, and dont really give a damn about the car anymore. I still consider myself an enthusiast, but the days of me washing and waxing every couple of days are long gone. At least with this car. 116K has taken its toll on the paint and interior rattles, so I just deal with it. Its not a show car, its not a race car... its just a daily driver that doesnt look bad and is fun to drive.

Note to self: this is a much more healthy line of thinking.
