just a gs. but i figure i can flip it and get more then $400 out of the car due to the shape it is, or swap in a 4g63 idk yet. its a fun little car to rip around in. and yes i know its rice and yes it is slow.

Great pick up, as you could easily make 2-4 grand profit on the turn around, depending on the miles/mechanical condition. Slow? Yes, but not rice IMO. I had a 98 RS in 2002 that I put a used hahn turbo kit on, ran strong for 11 thousand miles on 9 psi, then I sold it. I heard the guy I sold it to blew the motor trying to run 16 pounds, poor 420a never stood a chance....

While it was running good though, it would have walked 90%, maybe more of the grand prix GTP's here. Not to say that's a gold benchmark, but you get what I'm saying.

With the current miles / condition I doubt you'll flip it for much more then what you paid.

You mean upgrade the turbo? 4g63's are already turbo I4's. If you wanted to keep it as a DD I would suggest just finding another low milage 420a. They're dirt cheap, and can be found everywhere. Neons, eclipse, avengers, even sebrings I believe all shared the 420a. And while not indestructable by any means, they are a little more reliable then a 4g63. Your chances of finding a 420a not beat to hell, are alot better then trying to find a 4g63 in the same condition. At least this has been my experience, others my have different thoughts.

Not really. The 4G63's were N/A 2.0 DOHC's. The 4G63T's were turbo'd. I say drive it till it explodes...then put another 420A in it.

Those were only in first gen eclipses, I guess I just assumed we talking second gen. In which case the T is simply implied with 4g63.
