I dont know how many of you remember me, I haven't been around for quite a while because over the past year I really lost interest in the Grand Prix.

To give you guys a short expalination, I demodded and sold my GTP a little less than a month ago, and I was looking to get a WRX to replace the GTP. I gave up on that idea and started looking at other options because everyone want way too much for their used Subarus. Anyhow, I picked up my replacement today:

I know it's a slobalt but it's a 2006 SS/SC, obviously a 5 speed. It has 55,000 miles on it and honestly I really like it so far (drove it over 300 miles already). It's sitting in my driveway right now with a Vibrant Performance header and Magnaflow catback in the trunk/backseat. After those parts are on I'm planning on getting an intake and ZZP's stage 3 kit which consists of a larger FMHE, 60lb injectors, a pcm and a MPS (Planning on running a 2.8 pulley, maybe smaller). Looking to see about 250HP at the wheels, just because I'd like to have the same power as the GTP but in a lighter car.

As of right now if has after market CCFL halo Projectors and is otherwise stock, except that it has no muffler. Which is changing asap when the Magnaflow goes on, becuase it sound awful.

    Cool story, huh?

Slobalt ftw! Even if it is the s/c they still can be pretty freakin fast. I like it alot, and good choice on the exhaust setup. My buddy has the magnaflow catback on his na and it sounds really good. Gotta post some vids of the exhaust and it in action!

Paid cash for the car so every dollar counts I didn't get the kit shipped out today because this became an all day affair but I will get it shipped asap.

Damn, awful news about the GTP. I secretly followed your build, and the intake gasket thread on GPONA and I was in love with your car. White GTP Coupes are the best looking 97-03.

As for the balt, the only one I would get would be a blue SS, so you made a good choice. Good Luck with it.

Yeah, I was really sad to let it go but the guy I sold it to is taking good care of it.

Thanks, I'll be posting updates on the slobalt as I make progress.

Headers, borla catback, 1.9 roller rockers, wideband tuned, all the basic supporting mods. It made 245 HP and 326 Ft-lbs at the wheels in the spring of 2009. I had a cam, race trans and I/C that never got installed because I sold them to get my R6. Just lost interest in the GTP.

Haha that's kinda blunt to ask that, but I paid $7300. Everything else I saw around me that was even close to comparable was at least 9500, but more like 10-12K.

Oh there's really no other way lol. Just wasn't expecting that. No worries man, and thanks, I'm happy with the car, especially since I was about to drop 9500 on a WRX with 75K miles and salvage title

**** thats an awesome deal! gg. i consider gtps to be equal to cobalts, stock for stock, even though the cobalt has ~40 less hp. so if you get the same hp as a gtp, ull smoke a lot of things. I swear every other w-body owner is switching to cobalt ss/ion redline.
