Well I remember when these cars came out in 97 & I bought a 98 SS back in 99. Anyways I remember racing one at the strip who had the pulley & Cold Air & Tune & he ran high to mid 13s all day while my 98 SS ran mid to low 13s. From that momment I knew I had to own one!

So I bought a 2000 Grand Prix GTP Silvermist!

Bone Stock, Only mod was a K&N Cone Airfilter & took out the headlight.

    1st pass 9.687 @ 72.05 mph

    2nd pass 9.605 @ 72.85 mph

I havent even changed the oil on this thing! It has 129,432 miles on it.

My goal is to run consistant 8.80s with the car!

What mods do I need to do to get it running mid 13s in short with out stressing out the transmission.. Also my Supercharger is freaking HOT AS &%$( after I drive it or race it. How do I get this Supercharger to stay cool. I know if I can keep it cool I will gain HP & ET!

I tried to post pics. But it wont let me!

I have 99 Polished Cobra Rims on it with a Eibach Pro Kit Drop ( NOW THE CAR RIDES ROUGH AS HELL) & I tinted the Taillights. Its a pretty sharp car if I say so myself!

    Bam read this: http://www.grandprixforums.net/safel...car-17482.html

You will never be able to cool the blower down, the blowers nik name is the HEATON, because they stay to effin hot all the time, even after the car not running, like 5 hours past shut off, it can still be warm.

Who is the best tuner for these cars. Im going to change the plugs & Oil & New Plug Wires & make a Cold Air Kit & splurge on TOG Headers & do a tune.

Hoping with just those mods I will be in the low 9s, Im impressed for this being a 4 door family sedan. I did the 1/8 mile conversion & the car ran 9.60 in the 1/8 which came out to 14.80s in the 1/4! Thats impressive for a stock car with almost 130,000 miles & no oil change or tuneup

dont buy TOGS, get SSAC or speddy daddys headers. They are all the same but TOGS are way over priced

ok, custom tune with hp tuners is the best

next best, send it to reptile or order one from DHP via 3800 performance or intense tuning

Pricey, but a phenolic intercooler will keep the blower just warm to the touch. 2003 SSEI has one and it made me a believer.

    Thanks I appreaciate it.

    Just curious

How much HP will Headers & Custom Tune & 3.4 Pully & Cold Air add? Also can I have the tuner to tune the car more for better gas milage as well?

youll probably get better gas mileage as a side effect of raised timing during cruising areas on the tables.

with a nice setup if you push 230 whp youd be lucky.

Not sure I can afford Headers. But I know this guy in Dallas who said he has a ZZP Catted Downpipe & U bend Delete & would take $75 for both. Is this a fair price for both of these items? I cant afford to do the Headers &. Hoping I can at least just do the

    ZZP Catted Downpipe
    U-Bend Delete
    3.4 Pulley
    Tune
    Home Made Cold Air kit
    Tune Up
    Autolite 104

Maybe come close to 200 WHP I hope if im lucky
