well guys, i think my gtp's tranny might be taking a crap and I dont have the money to fix it IF it goes out since im in college. so after a few hours on craigslist here's whats caught my eye

    2001 Chevy Blazer ZR2

asked him to trade straight up, we'll see what he says tonight when i talk to him more about it.

My car: 98 gtp 4 door galaxy silver 135,000 miles on it. FWI, custom tuned.

You think it'd be worth it to trade?

Blazer looks nice, but I would keep the GTP If I were you. It just wouldn't be as fun to drive

Those ZR-2 blazer's eat ball joints like crazy. Keep that in mind if you decide to do it.

Blazers seem to eat everything, I don't know 1 person that hasn't had a major problem with a blazer or S10. My grandma bought a new one in 2002 and was on it's 2nd tranny and 3rd fuel pump by 2007.

I owned a blazer for 2 years. In that time it needed new rear shocks, a new cat, new rotors, a new fuel pump, new dist. cap and rotor, new bcm, and something was messed up so spark plug 2 was always saturated aka it ran on 5 cylinders. I bought it with 95k miles sold it at 108 for almost half what I paid. And the engine is crammed in there.

They're awesome as custom pieces, but the 4.3 really is junk. The price of all the stuff I listed is worth buying a new tranny for the gp

ive had a blazer and an s-10 they look nice thats about it. the are impossible to work on. the injection system is a nightmare and impossible to trouble shoot and expensive. there also very cramped inside. i used to always accidently hit both pedals with my boots on.

also the planatary in the trannys in these always break. and the gas milaige sucks. i get like 1 to 2 less in my silverado

Ive never had a blazer but I did have a S10 Xtreme with a 4.3V6 and a 5 speed in it and it was alot of fun. Had it for 2 years before hitting a deer with it and thus totaling it. I drove the crap outta that thing from burnouts in 1st to 2nd and chirping em in 3rd it was alot of fun and I surprised alot of people on the streets with it

well all its gotta do is last me through college, so in 3 years i'll buy either a 04-06 duramax or a gxp, or both =P lol. but seriously, I wont be driving it much besides back home to see family and my school is right across the street from where my apartment is so ill be walking everyday. therefor i'd only be putting like maybe 6K on it a year. I know for a fact that if i keep the gp i'll be putting at least $1000 into it in the near future and i dont have the time or money to mess with it. Hopefully ill be meeting up with him 2morrow and see. I told him 200 bucks cash if i kept everything on my car, (hid's, fwi, clear corners, white face gauge, and tinted tails)

You don't wanna spend around 1k for a tranny because you can't afford it? Well, my friend wait until you see how much money adds up from all the parts going to sh!t on a Blazer. I'd rather choke up the money for a new/used tranny, and drive the GTP for another 10+ years, then have to choke up $1,000+ a year trying to keep an ugly blazer running.

I think your going to miss the GTP if you get rid of it. It is such a better looking vehical than the blazer. The whine of the supercharger, the leather, HUD, the looks on peoples faces when you fly past them. But to each his own, it is your decision what you want. Im just giving my $0.02.

gp is prbly worth more too. blazers are a dime a dozen. and dont think the blazers are reliable. oil cooler lines will leak all over. and the heater cores always go out and thats not cheap or easy. they ride like crap and chew up tires in the front.
