Specialist Joseph Walter United States Army, Distinguished himself by meritorious achievement as a Medical Analyst, Joint Intelligence Operations Center-South Intelligence, Surveillance, And Reconnaissance Directorate, United States Southern Command Miami, Florida From March 2010 to 21 May 2010. During this Period while in support of Operation UNIFIED RESPONSE Specialist Walter's Efforts Helped to Facilitate the continuing relief operations in the wake of the January 12th earthquake. He produced or contributed to 60 daily intelligence inputs used to compile the United States Southern Command Intelligence Summary on Haiti as well as the intelligence slide for the daily update to the Joint Staff. He generated a comprehensive assessment of Vector & Water Borne diseases that would become more pervasive during and after Haiti's spring rainy season, aiding planners in preparing for medical challenges that could impact United States Personnel, United Nations personnel, aid workers, and those living in camps for the internally displaced. Specialist Walter also prepared a report on Jamaica's ability to withstand a potential natural disaster, fulfilling the need for a baseline report in preparation for the 2010 Hurricane season. through his distinctive accomplishments Specialist Walter Reflected credit upon himself, the United States Army, and the Department of Defense.
