Its always good to get the cops involved. If it ends up in small claims court the judge will ask for the report as proof. Otherwise your word against the owners. This no license lady could dissapear and the owner could say heck no to repairs and then you are SOL. I see this happen to many people once an estimate is submitted. Idiots think cars can be fixed for a 100 bucks.

Take it from me: CALL them (insurance co) EVERYday! Be nice at first, Don't take NO **** from anyone! Then get a little pissy, Then, just CUSS like you don't know any other words. Take all these steps in the same phone conversation, Everyday!!
If they send you a check and they Short you, Don't cash it! If you do, thats you somehow agreeing to that amount.
Be sure and tell them you don't want used parts. tell 'em more than once.
