Tired of the GTP...and after all the fiasco going on with it now...I want something different...I've ALWAYS wanted a S13 Silvia...and ALWAYS wanted to put a RB series motor in it from a Skyline...probably the R33 GT-R's RB25DETT/trans...easiest one to swap in there. Laugh if you want...that's my plan...just seeing what you guys think about it.

Hmmm...not really I've researched it...I can pick up a RB25DETT with a trans for just around 2K...and if I get a blown motor/trans car with a nice interior/body for about 3K...then I'll still have money left over from selling the GP...as long as I can get about 6 for it. Granted...that is SAYING I sell the GP to some kid or someone willing to pay more that doesn't know what they are worth...then if I do it around tax season...It'll be way easier...and do able. I don't plan on modding it very much...just a turbo back, dyno tune, boost controller, and a couple filters bolted on it...maybe a front mount...so...like another grand...maybe?

It isn't unrealistic...I still wouldn't have a car payment and I don't plan on DD'ing it...I just like the idea of being debt free...

I mean debt as a car payment...I HATE making monthly payments to something I know at one point or another won't be running. Plus...you'll be back in it by tax season too...can't lie to me

There is a guy around me that has a 240 that's rb powered.. it's pretty cool.

There is also a guy with a Bagged Sonoma.... that's rb powered lol. Didn't sound right, a skyline noise coming out of a pick up lol but it was sweet.

I have always liked the silvias and as you said you can have a skyline motor imported for about 2K.. Would be a nice project.

My friend recently built a RB powered 240, he wound up spending 10k in the end.

They start out looking cheap and easy, but wind up expensive, and a pain in the ass.

The only thing negative about the swaps are, a lot of people do it, especially down here in FL, every 240 is either SR or RB.. and maintanince is high.

But, 95' 240's done right, are nice cars. I was going to pick up a 95 Silvia before I bought my S2000.

You already know my thoughts on this. Its been my dream build forever and i think we should do it. I go sr20 and you go rb25. The more i research it like the sites i told you about the more reasonable it seems. SR swaps are cheapest due to using the factory motor mounts but an RB20 or 25 are only a little more. All are reasonable but the RB26. The steering on an lhd usdm car has to run right where one of the turbos sit. Plus the RB26 uses an awd trans so youd have to get a RB25 trans. I say RB25 or SR20.

I saying that, becuase you might end dumping a ton of money in the that car you wanna build right now. I say just stick with your GP. But its your decision.
