hey guys. wow, i dont even know where to start. okay, so i was driving to work this morning along a very busy, daily travelled highway where ive NEVER seen a deer the entire 16 years ive lived in this town and driven these roads. So this lil bastard is running along the OPPOSITE side of the road, same direction i was traveling (against oncoming traffic) when all of a sudden he darts out in front of me LITERALLY the last second. I had no time to react, next thing I know a deer is hitting the upper front winshield and actually pushes the metal roof of the car towards the trunk. Of course it destroyed the front windshield, sharp glass and sh*t ALL OVER my newly installed $500 plus dollar 40th Anniversary leather seats. They werent even 2 weeks old, ??!!! Okay, this is where it gets nasty so hide the kids and grab a trashcan, u might feel the urge to puke. I know i did, multiple times. Anyway, the story gets worse: I guess the glass from the windshield was so sharp or the impact caused it, but when the deer hit my front windshield its stomach got ripped open or exploded or something, but as it hits the windshield i get sprayed with deer feces and blood. wait, it gets more f*cked up...Apparently i hit a pregnant doe because amongst all the sh*t and intestines that poured into the interior of my car, there was also a dead baby deer fetus lying in the passenger floorboard of the car, along with half of the body of another fetus lying under the passenger seat. With a pile of its mothers intestines next to it. There is blood and guts all over the inside of my car, i cant describe the smell or the image. It was a living nightmare people, that was the most traumatic and disgusting thing thats ever happened to me in my life. I mean, hunting, killing, and skinning a deer is one thing...this was totally different. The EMTs told me that had i been a few seconds faster or had the deer hit closer to my side of the windshield, i would either be dead right now or my face would have been peeled off from the glass. So, instinctively, when i hit the deer i locked up the brakes and eventually came to a stop. I dunno wtf the guy behind me was doing, but next thing i know ive come to a complete stop and then i get nailed AGAIN, this time from behind by the guy that was behind me as the wreck happened. I was stopped, he was still doing 55. So he was either riding my ass or wasnt paying attention, but it doesnt matter at this point i suppose. I have full covereage and I wasnt hurt, so things could have been much worse to say the least. I hope i havent offended/sickened anyone but this is just one of those things where u just gotta talk about it, get it off ur chest and outta your mind. So...FWIW...if you see a deer running alongside the OPPOSITE side of the road, assume that sorry bit*h is gonna jump in front of you and destroy your car. This is finals week for me as well, as if i didnt have enough to worry about...Anyone near NW Arkansas trying to sell a GTP, by the way...? I refuse to have anything other than a GP, call me spoiled or hardheaded or whatever, it is what it is. ill try to post up some pics....

Wow, very sorry to hear. Even sorrier about the disgusting mess and mental trauma. Definitely would have sickened me and I don't get queasy very easily. Glad you're okay though, cars can always be replaced.

and I thought I was having a bad day because my Ding Dongs got stuck in the vending machine and never came out. I'm sorry to hear that and at least you're ok. Try going to Craigslist, there's always a ton of GTP's on there.

I was eating while I read that... luckily It didn't suprise me, I seen some messed up stuff. One time me and a buddy were on the highway going over a large hill at night and didn't see the deer already dead in the road, we got airborn...

Why don't you just clean your car up and fix it? That's what will happen to it anyway... Deer killer... lol

Thank u guys so much for the kind words and thoughts. I feel so ungrateful though, all i can think about is my poor car. All the hard work, all the time i spent...gone in an instant. See, that coulda been my life: gone in an instant. But here I am wondering why me, why my car, why did this have to happen? Am i just being completely one sided and ungrateful? Because i feel lucky, but mostly i dont, ya know? I want to be happy that im still here but pissed that my car is not. And there is no simply cleaning the GP up and salvaging the interior. it's ruined, there is NO getting that stink out and i dont think i could scrape dried, encrusted intestines out of the interior without losing every ounce of sanity i have left. Its not even about the nastiness anymore, it's more the fact that that crap is all over the interior of MY car, JUST when i started getting it fixed up the way I had always wanted. Its not sickening anymore, its maddening. But yea, i just gota hope they give me enough for the car, or whats left of it, so i can get a GTP. The GP that i totalled wan an SE, couldnt afford the GTP when i got the car brand new back in Dec '01, so maybe its a blessing in disguise.....either way, thanks again for the support guys! The GP community and this forum is the reason i refuse to buy anything else besides a GP

Well, in light of the situation, maybe your next car can have a slightly more sloped nose?

of course Dan. i gotta show her off. Prolly be seeing me in your rearview mirror a lot since youre s/c'd,lol. Yup, i was okay this time but im not gonna push my luck. I was definitely sore the next day though. The other guy involved had a busted nose and it totalled his truck, as well. One wreck like this is enough, and i dont want another one for another 22 years.
