So i was working on tearing down a L67 engine with a friend and we were working then my girl calls and wants me to come over. I look at my friend and say "Damn she is such a Fu*king carblock".

Just wondering how many fellow members have significant others that you feel are "carblocks"

Those who dont get it Carblock like Co*kblock

this comes from a girl with a car mom and has dated car guys all her life. you need to sit down and tell her how much it means to you to work on your car or help your friends with theirs. maybe ask her to come once? maybe to watch or even help? get tools or what not. [i loved watching being there], just to involve her and show her how much it means to you, some girls really just dont... get it unless you show or tell them but if thats your time then you need to explain that to her reaction will be everything. if she wants to be involved great but if she does the ever infamous its your car or me? then thats your answer because if a girl cant respect something thats not really a hobby its a way of life then that shows she cant possibly respect how you live your life or you. girls will deny it to their dying day but thats what it comes down to.

I've left women that didn't let me be myself, and myself is working on cars when I'm not at work. Many times it was that they felt the money that went into the car should've been spent on them instead. That's a "buh-bye now" instance if ever there was one.

My wife helps me all the time. When we were dating to got my truck stuck in the snow and ice and that to this day is my fault when I wasn't even there. What really upset her was when I went and looked at the situation and just drove the truck right out of it.

She has helped me tow cars with me in the broken vehicle and her in the truck with just a chain inbetween. She gets worked up, but is fully capable. Now, working on getting her to pull the 36' gooseneck loaded down. Going to take a bit, but she will come around on that as well.

I have never put the car in front of her needs though. Yes, in front of her wants, but never her needs and I have shown her that she is more important than my want of fixing a car. We went from no you can't fix that to me just doing it and her getting steamed to me tellling her what I was going to do and explaining the situation to her, to now I state what is going to be done and we work it into the budget instead of me just coming home with a new project. Helps everyone out in the end. We have both changed and it has been a good change.
