its called having a family and being married and paying child support, doesnt leave much money for anything else. have to save a little here and there to be able to buy mods. only seeing at the most 1.3* of kr usually see 0 to .6
Gettin' there. I bet you'll be low 14's or high 13's with a tune.
Wait till this fall and go again. Also put in a gallon of 100 octane.
That thing...even without a tune...shouldnt knock on a 3.4" with ported heads...ported heads add TON of flow with substantial knock killing abilities.
Not bad for not having a tune. I'm on similar mods and trapping 98mph at 14.2 with a horrible 2.3 sixty on these ****ty Kelly tires. Get that tune and you'll have me beat nicely.
only the exhaust is ported on my heads. when i bought the car i had to put head gaskets on the car. i had the heads reworked and they had to be milled .007 and i wanted to port the intake and exhaust but i only had enough money to port the exhaust.
Right now my transmission is on its way out. so i am gonna wait to do anymore major mods, i will be installing a stage 3 cam from intense, have my heades ported more along with milled spring seats and larger valves ect.... s2 ic and g5 blower. looking to run in to the lower 12's
i have a stock gtp and it ran a 15.4 is that good for a stock gtp its a 97 i need a tune up bad i raced a 09 cobalt ss and blew it away i was just woundering if a 15.4 was good

Turbo cobalts are 13's. it was probably a 2.4 or something gay. And ive seen flow bench results where mildy ported intake ports barely did anything but the exhaust did a ton. so good choice on doing the exhaust if you could only do one. I dont understand how you can plan on getting all these mods (headers, at least $200) when a tune is like barely over $100.
my next thig will be a hp tuner and a tune for now and then when taxes come in i will be buying more parts and put them away will trans takes a dump. then its time for the fun stuff.
There is nothing wrong with running a 3.4 on a stock pcm.... you probably would only gain 1mph or .1 et with a "tune".
There is something killing your trap speed for sure.... I would have to look at things to see why that is... my factory stock car traps 98.
the tune can really affect the trap speeds.
first tune i had with a dp, 3.5 pulley, CAI etc.. 14.5 at 100.188
second tune, everything the same except add TOGs, i ran 14.1 at 96.619
at the same track at sea level
and the temp will kill you too, it was over 100 last time i raced, my times went from 14.1 to 14.5 again in the heat and my best trap was only 93mph. at sea level
to give you an idea, when i raced in Fallon, NV a couple of months ago, i ran 15.2 at 93. that track is at 4000 feet.
the temp was about 90 that night with lots of humidity. the track is located in steele alabama near gadsden
just to give you an idea for the temps as it started coming down, i had to let off so not to break out, i have 14.5 runs with traps of 93-88, so just ten degrees can make a big difference
5 mph with a 10* difference probably meant you were knocking pretty good...an 88mph trap at 14.5?
I trapped nearly 86 mph in a bone stock automatic Cobalt on a 90* day...track elevation, -30 billion feet...E/T was 16.2 with a 2.5 60 foot.
