Re: Text Messaging Car Accident
there are enough deistractions with just regular driving I fail to understand why people would willingly add any other distractions. Today on the way home I nearly hit someone when crossing a streat, could not see them fromt eh cars parked on the street, I looked several times but when pulling away from the stop their they were, collision avoided. With enough on the plate with just normal driving, why would I add to it by texting, calling, applying makeup, searching for food, etc etc. As is said many many times driving is a privaledge not a right so it should be treated as such.
Re: Text Messaging Car Accident
i don't text and drive personally I think its one of the stupidest things someone can do .... and I don't care If i get flamed for saying that ... but the point is a distracted driver i.e. a driver texting will have tunnel vision so to speak ... thus you won't notice things you normally would ... including in some instances other cars .....there is no well I'm a good driver and I have my keyboard memorized so it doesn't distract me because it does .... and remember all it takes is one time... and your whole like can be changed ... or ended
Re: Text Messaging Car Accident

About that video:
This is why I like larger modern cars.
More mass = more difficult to push around.
The idiot in the backseat didn't even have her seatbelt on.
Anyone ever see any of the other commercials they have like this out there?
also I lol'd "Auto Parts - Many of the cars in our car videos have performance parts ranging from exhaust systems, intakes, performance chips, brakes, suspension, and other parts that will make your car go fast and corner great. Visit out parts section for performance parts."
and I lol'd when i saw an ad for a 2010 GT 500 on the same page as that video.
Re: Text Messaging Car Accident
i lol'd at the fact you made an abbreviation out of an acronym, awesome
Re: Text Messaging Car Accident
I text and drive all the time...And I'm a truck driver too. Well I won't say all the time, I rarely text and drive in my truck but in my car I do it all the time, controlling a crappy Blazer or Regal is 100 times easier than a 60,000 lb dual steering wheeled missle. The only time I text while driving the truck is when I'm on the highway and no one is close to being in front of me or when I'm rolling like 1 mph between stops (garbage truck) I'll be finishing up a text.
The fines for CDL drivers is insane, there's a little tid bit up on the board where all the keys are at work about the fines. I can't remember if it's for being on the phone or sending a text but it's almost a $3000 fine!!!
Re: Text Messaging Car Accident
i text and drive. i barely look at the keyboard when i do it. it's just like any other distraction. i feel confident enough in my driving abilities to stay safe. i honestly can't drive with two hands on the wheel, it just feels awkward. my right hand is always on the phone, ipod, stereo, food, gear selector, wherever. it's pretty much only on the wheel when i turn
Re: Text Messaging Car Accident
i hate people that text and drive, well only the ones that hold up traffic, I wish i had a train horn when those people are around hahahah
