I think its just a spurt...but as the G8 starts to fill the market and probably more so with the G8 GXP I would expect ads like that to show up more often as people try to scoop a few of them up.

Hate yo say it but if i had the money. I would no longer be an american car person, Regal would be in a field with shot gun holes in it.

I could see that frustration on your face at the meet. The more I think about it and with all the troubleshooting that was done, the more Im convinced one of your rear sensors may be toast. But then there are other things you mentioned that make me question that. So I can definitely understand your frustration.

Mine is going on year 10. I won't be parting with her anytime soon. I will, however, continue to rant about paying for repairs. Still cheaper than a new car payment.

AMEN Brother!! I'll have a couple thou in mine by the time its all said and done but I'll have it paid off in less than a year and I have no desire to get rid of her or take on a new car payment. We have three vehicles now and this is the only one not completely paid off and when it is I'll be saving the money so that if we need a new car for whatever unforeseeable reason we can either buy it with cash or put such a large down payment on it that the monthly payment would be insignificant.

I went over 4 years not too terribly long ago without a car payment and I liked that too much to continue the trend again. I was one month away from paying off my last car when I bought the GP. Had it not been for my love of Pontiac and to get back to one I would be payment free now.

I think you mean AMEN sister! LOL.

My 99 GTP will be staying, but sadly my Comp G will be going. Gonna have to down-grade to a 97-03 cheap DD shortly. Going back to finish up degree finally and leaving factory work. No more surgeries, yay. $$$ problems for a couple years, boo.

I think alot of the veterans want to move on (been there done that) and some of the newer members are upgrading from one GP to a better one.

I've done it once on here and twice on CGP. Harder to differentiate with a screen name (incomplete name) as opposed to full real names. From what I've seen over the years she wouldn't take offense or beat you up too badly. LOL. 19 times out of 20 you would have been correct. A real car "lady" as well.

When I heard a Prius owner tell me he was getting 35 MPG (must be city driving) I said I got 30 on my Impala, driving 70-75 MPH. I picked up my Grand Prix as a daily driver, with 84K on it. If it makes it to 200K I'll be happy. I have no plans to ever turn in the Impala. I might convince my wife to get the GXP a few years after its out. She wants a manual transmission, so with three kids, she'd be able to smoke all the other moms in their minivans and SUVs.

I don't ever plan on selling mine. I love my car and its been fun working on not to mention its unique. I know my GF and I have looked at GTOs and TBSS, but neither will replace my car. She really don't want to sell hers either though. If I end up getting either I may do a couple bolt ons and thats it. I plan on having more fun with my GTP honestly. And as crazy as this sounds, if the option comes where only one car could be in the garage, it will be my GTP hands down. Thats my baby, period.

I'm in this hobby because I love the 97-03 GPs + the 3800 motors. I'm not here because of ClubGP or ZZP...... LOL

Once in awhile i'll hear old high school people say "your still driving that old car". I find it funny honestly, most of them had to get rid of there fun cars for Vans and **** years ago because of having families and such. Granted I didn't have my GTP in HS, i did a few months later after graduating (busted ass, bought my dream car!). Either that or they have brand new vehicles every couple of years BUT they can't afford to have anything not to mention a place of there own because of poor money managment. Yeah... I feel soooooo bad for driving my OLD car. I guess this belongs in the rant section! LOL!

Honestly, I need another car like I need a hole in my head. Hell, I've had all I can do to put 3,000 miles on my car in a 6 month period! I used to drive 3,000 miles per month! All I need right now now is another car sitting that I cannot drive because i'm never home. Three cars + Work Truck cluttering my house? No thanks, I think i'll just stick with two cars and the work truck. I think i'll spend the money I save on insurance and a car payment and put it in the GTP :-) What the hell, right?

    LOL good stuff there Indian!

I know for myself personally, when I grew up in my high school years, I drove my dad's old company cars, an old Olds Cutlass Supreme 4dr and a 4dr Buick LaSabre. I never had the nifty 68 firebird like a lot of my friends had back in the day. So now I am reliving those lost years with my GT and now my GTX.

Like many others, I am stuck on the Grand Prix, and have been since the early days of the new Wbody platform. I enjoyed the pre Wboday models, but not as much. And there are still many options available for our cars. And companies like ZZP and others are still coming out with new products for them. Granted it as slowed over the years, but that is expected.

I just wish Pontiac would have kept the Grand Prix name for the G8. Maybe I can fashion some fancy Grand Prix badges for my G8 when my loan runs out on my current GTX. I would still keep the GTX and use that as a DD and then have a nice snazzie G8 purring in the garage

Hell yeah! You know exactly what I am talking about.

Even if these cars didn't have any aftermarket, i'd still have my car. I'd have the usual hand made bolt on of course, but i'd still have my car. Although the Intense Rockers, PRJ IC, and Overkill tuning made it much more fun and i'd miss it! :-)
