So i was frustrated cause the grand prix i was looking at didnt pan out after i got back from looking at it I hopped on craigs to see what else i could find
found a 1999 dodge ram 1500 sport 4x4 he was asking $1000 i offered $800 now its sitting in my drive way
its not a complete creampuff but well worth it
it has a nasty idle hole in the muffler and a little body work but made it 50 miles home

its got 222000 on it i know its high but i is running If i keep it ill put a low mileage engine in or rebuild whats there

Dont know if i wanna fix it a bit and flip or fix and keep and sell my 94 chevy

I know in the am ill be at the muffler shop putting the flowmaster 50 series i have in my garage on it
and a full tune up seafoam and tet the fuelk injector and put it on my laptop
    Ill post pics tomorrow
blue book is like 3500-4500 so im happy

This is not the one i bought but basically the same

With that many miles...you would be better off keeping it.

I think differently then most people I guess, i'd buy a truck with that many miles because it obviously is a good truck or else there wouldn't be that many miles on it. I vote keep the chevy, but thats just me. My Yukon has 310k on it and it ran like a dream, sold it within a day. My mom has a durango with 167k and its been in the shop 3 times for the tranny since new... but the choice is yours.

By the looks of it from the pic it loooks super clean for that many miles, i think u got a good deal. Dodge tranny's suck!!!!! and everyone know's it. The 44 and 46re's are complete junk. I had a '98 durango with the 318 and it had 188k and im suprised the tranny didnt slip as much as it did. That thing was a turd even with a k&n intake a superchip w/ the setting on 91 octane my friend's chevy venture destroyed me lol. If i crash my gtp and the motor and tranny is salvageable i'm gonna put it in his minivan talk about a sleeper!

That pix is not the actual truck as he stated in his posting. But anyways if the 4x4 works i would deff keep the dodge and sell the chevy. Just my 2 cents..

ill get pix this am im heading out to the exhaust shop and autozone to get parts
I have seen 89 dodge dakotas selling for 2000 grand so i know i got a good deal
i could sell it today with out doing anything for 2000

As far as the trans goes it seems like all new transmissions are junk
gp trans for instance the 700r4 in my chevy is junk to Im not worried about it due to the fact it was just rebuilt before i got it
And the trans in the dodge was replaced new around 60k ago from what the guy told me and it shifts smoothly

I kinda like it though I dunno im gonna do the tune up now and compression test
    oil change and seafoam
got the muffler on sounds decent

    problems sofar
random misfires almost all cylinders at higher rpm
and has a speed sensor shaft code

Imight just yank the engine and rebuild
My chevy is a nice little truck but its a single cab and low but i like the 350 power

the dodge is high 4x4 extra cab and has the 5.9
ill see how the tune up goes and go from there
pics as soon as my camera charges

Personally, I like a truck with no extended cab or anything like that. Most new trucks now have 4 doors and looks like a complete luxary vehicle on the inside. IMO these new trucks are just luxary family vehicles and not used for its bed. I have a 93 F150 short bed, sprayed-in bed liner, doesn't even have installed AC (open the windows if you need to cool off) and manually operated windows. My kids asked me how to open the window one time and I had to tell them to grab that handle and start cranking it. That was too funny! I use the truck to haul stuff like trash, brush, etc., etc. In any case, just my opinion and everyone has their own preferences. As long as you are happy with your buy, then that is all that matters.
