alright, fellas, here is the deal. i am going to the track on june 12th. the local track follows NHRA rules. i am going to be taking my bike. all i own is a helmet, no leathers.

how the hell fast can i go without getting kicked off the track? ive tried reading through the 124 pages of rule book, but i couldnt find what i was looking for. i am hoping to make this monster run 10s in n/a form, but i will think twice about doing it on the first pass if im going to get kicked out for doing it. what kind of equipment do i need for what ET's and MPH?

    a little help?

You need a "Teather" / Kill switch that hooks up to you, so if you fall off the bike, it will kill it.

You're not allowed to trap OVER 120mph, or run under a 10.99 without leathers.

Some tracks won't let you run without leathers no matter what.

    Here's my teather setup

Leathers are a good idea. Even if you are going 100 and crash, you are going to be in a world of hurt.

Unless it's different then where you live, I just raced at a NHRA event.. and those were the rules.

You hook the teather up to the kill switch, it's really easy.

You won't be allowed to run without it, no matter what.

i completely agree, but the only leathers i have access to are my fathers and he is a hefty man in comparison to me. i have no doubt that they wont fit.

where'd you buy that teather from? obviously it just runs in line with the kill switch, no biggie. just a pain in the ass that i actually need it.

I got mine off a friend.

You can get them at any local bike shop, depending if they stock them or not.. mine usually do.

    They run around $50+

straight from the horses mouth from one of the guys who works for the track:

You need a helmet, goggles (glasses face shield), leather jacket, leather over the ankle shoes(boots), and leather gloves to go down the track. If you go over 120 mph or faster than 9.99 you then need full leathers and an nhra license…
i knew i could go faster than an 11 and still be good. in your face, kawa.

10.99 is the limit here for "Full leathers" and 120mph.

Obviously if you're running faster then 9.99's you need a license.. but you won't have to worry about that.

If you run 10's on that bike, I'll be surprised.

why do you say that? its not slow by any means. the thing i could see holding me back is that my clutch is slipping up top at WOT so i might have to short shift it.

Duct tape a camera to your tank.

My bud used to do that when he stunted.
